Tasmanian Agricultural Shows

Tasmanian Agricultural Shows The Tasmanian Agricultural Shows operates as the parent body of its 23 members – primarily show societies operating throughout Tasmaina.

The Agricultural Show Council of Tasmania operates as the parent body of its twenty-three (23) affiliated members – primarily show societies operating throughout the State of Tasmania – to provide them with an avenue to raise and address issues of common interest and of material or financial benefit to any of those affiliated member organisations. Although each affiliated member organisation is re

sponsible for the organisation and staging of the annual shows/events, initial contact details for each individual affiliated organisation can be obtained from this very informative website. All affiliated member organisations have a principal interest in the promotion of the diverse Tasmania agricultural industry – through the featuring of beef and dairy cattle, horses, sheep and poultry exhibits, whilst many feature alpacas, goats, pigeons and pigs where appropriate and based on local support. Most organisation’s are now featuring animal nurseries that provide the younger patrons with a “feel” for baby lambs, calves, chickens, pups, foals etc. Pavilion exhibits receive excellent community support through entries being received featuring horticultural displays, cookery, needlework, photography and many other facets of locally produced craft. Most Tasmanian agricultural shows conduct various classes of wood chopping through the ongoing support of numerous axe men and women of varying ages. The Showman’s Guild of Tasmania membership supports many of the annual events conducted as part of the Tasmanian Show Calendar through the placement of side show rides and other activities.

Great opportunity for Ag Shows and rural communities to access funding for projects that strengthen connection, wellbeing and resilience 🌾

Ag Shows: Australia Post Community Grants Open 9 June 2026!

Agricultural shows are at the heart of community life — and now there’s a chance to bring even more support, connection, and wellbeing to your region.

The Australia Post Community Grants Program opens for applications on 9 June 2026, offering up to $10,000 for local projects that strengthen mental wellbeing and help people feel more connected.

This year, Australia Post is again providing additional funding for projects in disaster‑impacted communities, supporting recovery, resilience, and the rebuilding of social ties where they’re needed most.

If your show or committee is working on initiatives that:
✨ Build social connection
✨ Support mental health
✨ Reduce isolation
✨ Strengthen resilience after floods, fires, storms or other disasters

…then this is your moment to apply.

Ag Shows already bring people together — these grants can help you take that impact even further.

📬 Applications open 9 June 2026
