🐾 CAT CARE ASSISTANT
📍 Location: Sandford
⏰ Hours: Casual position -2 days per week (days to be discussed)
• Split shifts- 9.30am – 12.00 and 4.00pm until 6pm on both days.
• Suitable for a mature applicant, possibly on a pension
• Must be local to Sandford due to the split shift nature of the role
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Cat Care Assistant to join our team. This role involves caring for and safeguarding other people’s beloved pets while they are in our care. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of welfare, hygiene, and comfort, and ensuring owners have complete confidence in the service we provide.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide daily feeding and fresh water in line with each cat’s individual needs.
• Clean & disinfect rooms, litter trays, & equipment to strict hygiene standards.
• Monitor health, behaviour, and wellbeing, promptly reporting any concerns.
• Administer medication as directed. Training will be given.
• Offer enrichment, grooming, and gentle handling to promote welfare.
• Keep accurate records for each animal’s care, feeding, and health.
• Communicate professionally with owners, assisting with bookings, admissions, and collections.
• Ensure all animals are treated with kindness, respect, and the same care you would give your own pets.
Person Specification
• A genuine love of animals and understanding of their needs.
• High attention to detail and strong sense of responsibility.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Previous animal care experience preferred but not essential (training provided).
