Dear Noki’s customers,
This is Winnie.
Today was the last business day of Noki Studio Pet Grooming. I burst into tears three times during the day, feeling very emotional and bittersweet. I’ll miss all my fur baby customers and those human customers who loved me, supported me and trusted me. 🥹❤️

I bought Noki from two Chinese girls (the previous owners) two and a half years ago. It turned out that it was a scam, cuz they lied by omission, and exaggerated everything, and faked things too… Back then, I didn’t know the business was actually failing. They fled the state pretty much overnight, going AWOL. I didn’t have any experience in pet grooming because I used to be an ESL teacher and translator (I have a master’s degree in education). They promised to train me, but never did. So I was scammed, and left with a failing business with some damaged equipment, with zero experience in pet grooming or business management.

But like a miracle, I survived, and I think I could make it mainly because I genuinely love helping animals, and interacting with nice people. So today I have become a self-taught dog and cat groomer, and a person easy to talk to 😄.

I particularly feel very proud of my cat grooming skills. I used to be scared of some cats, but now I love them all. Over the past two and a half years, I helped so many disabled and elderly cats while charging very low prices. My goal was to make cat grooming popular in Tasmania, and I think I’ve kinda made it. ❤️

Donating Noki to Birchgrove Feline Assistance and have all those lovely people continue serving my fur baby customers is the best thing I could do. It means even when I’m no longer in Tasmania, I’ll still be helping fur babies.

Before I came up with this idea, I tried to reach out to other groomers, hoping someone would love to continue my cat grooming business, but it didn’t go very well. Fortunately, I have got the best result I’ve ever wanted. 💯

Once again, thank you all for your love, support and trust.

I’ll make another statement when Birchgrove is ready to open their new grooming business. 💕

Dear Valued Customers,

It is with much sadness that I must announce that Noki will be closing for the foreseeable future this month, on May the 14th 2024. 🥹🍂

Deeply personal matters concerning my family in China, combined with matters relating to my health and wellbeing, have recently and unexpectedly coalesced and demanded my full and urgent attention. This will take the next several months, perhaps more, to deal with. I wish all of you and your fur babies the best.

🌸🎉Update:
I’m going to donate the pet grooming business to Birchgrove Feline Assistance in terms of organizing an alternative to us for all our customers, offering all our previous high-quality cat grooming services, and hopefully dog grooming services too very soon 💕💕💕
By doing so, our old customers will have a new place to go, and the money customers spend will be spent on saving more stray fur babies.

I’ll start training the members of the shelter cat grooming myself, and they’ll try to find a good dog groomer to replace me. ❤️❤️ Plz keep supporting us and Birchgrove Feline Assistance
