Not quite the birthday present Kaos had in mind!

Our handsome English Staffy Kaos spent his birthday with Dr Beth and Nurse Steph for his desexing procedure at our East Geelong clinic.

From pre anaesthetic blood tests and surgical preparation to anaesthetic monitoring, surgery and recovery, Kaos is taking you behind the scenes to show just how much care goes into a routine desexing procedure.

With his mum who happens to be one of our nurses there to keep him company, Kaos was in very good hands.

Safe to say he’s still waiting for his birthday cake! 🤣

A little extra love for handsome Hughie!

This gorgeous boy recently visited our Geelong West clinic for his castration and managed to sneak in some cuddles with Dr Amy along the way!

Castration is a common surgical procedure that can offer several health benefits
including preventing unwanted litters and reducing the risk of certain reproductive health conditions.

Of course no visit is complete without a little extra attention from our team and we think Hughie was more than happy to soak it all up!

Double the cuteness at East Geelong!

Little Bessie the adorable Jack Russell puppy recently visited Dr Beth for her second puppy vaccination with her four legged friend Lincoln joining in for the photo!

Puppy vaccinations play an important role in protecting our youngest patients against serious infectious diseases as their immune systems develop. Staying on track with their vaccination schedule helps give them the best start to a happy and healthy life.

We think Bessie and Lincoln make a pretty adorable duo and Dr Beth certainly didn't mind having two gorgeous faces in front of the camera!

A swollen leg, a mystery injury and one very brave little patient!

Meet Bean an 11 month old cat who recently visited us after his family noticed he was limping, reluctant to put weight on his front leg and behaving a little differently than usual.

Following an examination and X-rays, our veterinary team identified significant soft tissue swelling and several small puncture wounds, consistent with a suspected cat bite injury and associated infection. Thankfully no fractures or dislocations were visible on his X-rays.

Did you know? Cat bite wounds can be surprisingly difficult to spot. Their sharp teeth can leave tiny punctures that quickly close over, potentially trapping bacteria beneath the skin and leading to painful infections.

Changes in behaviour, hiding, limping or unusual swelling can all be signs that something isn’t quite right.

Bean was sent home with medication and a follow up plan to monitor his recovery. We’re wishing this sweet boy a smooth recovery and hoping he’s back to his usual adventures soon! ❤️

A big congratulations to little Oak our gorgeous Golden Retriever puppy on graduating from Puppy School!

It’s always so rewarding watching our puppies grow in confidence, develop new skills and build important foundations for the future. Oak has been such a little superstar and we can’t wait to see him continue to grow!

And speaking of Puppy School... we’ve got some exciting changes coming for 2027!

A little extra TLC for lovely Layla!

This gorgeous Golden Retriever recently visited our Lara clinic for a wound repair and Nurse Rachel was right there to make sure she received plenty of love and cuddles along the way.

We think Layla deserves a few extra treats for being such a brave girl!

Beautiful Stella, who belongs to our very own receptionist Georgie, recently popped in to see Dr Beth for her routine vaccinations.

Keeping up to date with vaccinations is an important part of preventative healthcare for cats, helping protect them against potentially serious infectious diseases and keeping them happy and healthy.

Stella certainly made herself right at home, and we think having a familiar face at the clinic made her visit that little bit sweeter!
