Indy the Dalmatian absolutely smashed it at Adolescent class last night

At the beginning of class we practiced “middle” and “settle” exercises to help everyone feel calm and focused before getting started. Even with other dogs nearby, Indy stayed so engaged with her owner - just look at that concentration 👏

At the moment our Adolescent classes are fully booked however if you’d like to join the cancellation list please give the clinic a call and we’d be happy to add you 😊

Available classes:

Baby Puppy Class (8–12 weeks)
Tuesday 9th of June @ 5:30pm
Monday 20th of July @ 7pm

Junior Puppy Class (12–20 weeks)
Tuesday 2nd of June @ 4pm
Wednesday 10th of June @ 4pm

We’re introducing Bravecto Plus for Cats as part of our updated feline parasite prevention recommendations at Vets of Geelong.

Bravecto Plus provides broad spectrum protection in a single topical treatment with coverage for:

- Fleas and paralysis ticks
- Heartworm
- Roundworm and hookworm
- Lungworm

With protection lasting up to 3 months for fleas and ticks, Bravecto Plus helps simplify parasite prevention while reducing the risk of missed treatments.

Parasite prevention should always be tailored to your cat’s lifestyle, age and risk factors. Indoor cats, outdoor cats and hunting cats all have different parasite exposure risks, which is why our team may recommend different prevention plans for different pets.

If you have questions about changing your cat’s prevention or whether Bravecto Plus is suitable for your pet speak with our team at your next visit.
Better protection, made simpler.

All the consult rooms are finally starting to look like a consult room.

Dr James checked out the space this afternoon while the final painting touches are happening inside and the sinks are now in too!

Seeing all the little details come together makes it feel very real now. Stay tuned for the next update that will be posted sooner than you think!

Maddy refused to write this post and is not enjoying getting this recognition… but for us, this is important.

We’re excited to share that Maddy has stepped into the role of Marketing Coordinator here at Vets of Geelong!

Maddy started with us as a receptionist but it didn’t take long to realise her strengths were in social media, marketing and all things creative.

If you’ve ever met Maddy, you’ll know she’s our ray of sunshine, always up for helping anyone and being the biggest hype girl.

There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes with our social media and marketing and a big part of that is thanks to Maddy.

We’re really proud of her and everything she’s achieved!

East Geelong update

This week Dr James is taking us on a different kind of walkthrough 👀

Instead of just showing the build progress, he’s stepping into the shoes of our clients and walking through what a visit to the new clinic might feel like. From walking through the front doors, being greeted at reception, settling into the waiting room, right through to consults, treatment areas and beyond.

It’s pretty exciting seeing the space start to feel like a real working clinic now.

There’s still plenty to do but every week it’s coming together more and more and we can’t wait to welcome you all in soon.

Big shoutout to the team at Vets Of Geelong for the incredible work they do. 👏

This season alone, I brought in around 10 injured snakes that unfortunately needed to be euthanised. Early on, I rang multiple clinics and was knocked back time and time again due to the risks involved with venomous snakes.

But from the moment I reached out to Vets Of Geelong, it was a completely different experience. Every single time I’ve called about an injured snake, they’ve stepped up without hesitation and been more than willing to help.

It makes a huge difference knowing there’s a team out there prepared to support wildlife carers and do what’s right for the animal, even when it’s not the easiest job.

Massive thank you to the entire team — your efforts don’t go unnoticed. 🫶
