🌱 CALL OUT FOR TOP SOIL DONATIONS AND/OR TURF 🐾

We could use a little help from our amazing community!

Our yard has had a bit of a rough time lately (thanks to some very cheeky pigs 🐷), and it’s now in need of some serious TLC.
To get it back to being a safe and comfortable space for our dogs to run and play, we’re looking for donations of top soil and/or turf to help level and rejuvenate the area.

If you or someone you know has any top soil and/or turf to spare or can help us source some, we’d be incredibly grateful. 🙏

After months of searching for their perfect place, Hoggie & Kevin are off living their best lives on a Mens rehabilitation farm, getting all the love (and food) and being the best therapy piggies 🐷

Thankyou to everyone who shared their story and helped them find their home and a special thanks to their new owner who went above and beyond to get the boys home 💚💙

Looks like Queensland Treasurer David Janetzki MP had some tough competition for attention during his visit to RSPCA Toowoomba… and it came with four paws and a wagging tail! 🐶❤️

Puppy Teddy turned on the charm, hoping to win David’s heart and a few extra pats 🐾

With 570 animals already adopted from our Toowoomba shelter this year, there are still plenty more like Teddy waiting for their second chance.

We think David might just help us spread the word - resistance is futile when faces like Teddy's are involved! 😍

🐾 Meet Melon — 10-Month-Old Bundle of love & life 🍈

Sweet Melon is just a baby, and shelter life is proving too much for his gentle heart. At only 10 months old, he’s struggling to cope with the noise and stress of kennel life, and he urgently needs a loving foster or forever home.

In his short time here, Melon has shown us how clever he is — he’s already mastered sit, lay down, and shake. He adores other dogs and loves to play, though his enthusiasm can be a little full-on at times (he’s still learning his manners).

Melon hasn’t had the chance to explore much of the world yet, so he’ll need patient guidance and slow introductions to new experiences. We’re helping him with his bouncy greetings and mouthing when he’s excited, and we’re confident this will settle beautifully in a home with structure, love, and a steady routine.

💔 Melon’s biggest wish is simple — a safe place to land, someone to help him feel secure, and a family to love him. If you’ve ever thought about fostering or adopting, now is the time. Melon can’t wait to show you how much joy and loyalty one little Kelpie mix can bring.

Help our wildlife beat the heat! 🐨🦘
As we try to stay out of the heat, remember our wildlife who also live under the blistering Queensland sun.

While our wildlife have cleaver ways to keep cool they can still succumb to heat stress. But you can help give them a helping hand 👇

💧 Leave bowls of fresh, clean water in shady spots near shrubs or bushes, and away from pets so they can drink undisturbed
🐾 Shallow dishes are best for smaller animals
🌿 For large containers, add a rock or stick so any small animas can climb out if they become stuck

🥵 Keep an eye out for wildlife suffering from heat stress. And those who may have burns to their feet - a common case we see with possums who live near tin roofs or iron fences who can bear the worst of the heat as their journey sees them travelling along these hot surfaces.

It's heating up! Don't forget your dog's sensitive feet as you protect your own 🐶

🖐️ Before heading out for a walk, follow the 5-second rule - if you can’t keep the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your pooch.

Don’t forget to check the sand - it can get just as hot!

☀️🕶️ It’s getting warmer, which means it’s extra important to remember to NEVER leave your pet unattended in a car 🐶🚗

‼️ Leaving your pet alone in a car can kill them ‼️
Not even in the shade. Not even with the windows down. Not even when it feels cool. Not even for a few minutes.

The facts you need to know 👇
🚗 Cars can reach up to 73 degrees celsius on a hot summer’s day
🌡️ Pets can still overheat even when the windows are down or the car is parked in shade
🔥 Ute trays can burn your pet’s paws - if you can't touch it, they can't either
🖐 Do the hand test! If you can't put your hand on a surface for 5 seconds without it burning, it is too hot for your pet to walk on!

🚨 Inspectorate Update - 21 dogs seized 🚨
Yesterday, RSPCA Qld Inspectors attended a property in South East Queensland following animal welfare concerns about animals allegedly living in inappropriate conditions, prolonged confinement, and lack of access to water.

As a result of investigations, 21 dogs have been seized under the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001, which mandates that all animals must be provided with adequate shelter, clean water, and freedom from distress and suffering.

All animals have been admitted into the care of RSPCA Qld, where they are undergoing veterinary assessment and receiving treatment as required.

This case is an active investigation.

Hector was found injured on the side of the road by a kind member of the public, with what look like injuries from being hit by a car.

Our RSPCA Rescue Team picked him up from a local vet and brought him to our RSPCA Hospital where he had to go undergo emergency surgery. Poor Hector had sustained a dislocated elbow, and a fracture to his leg so severe it wasn't able to be fix and needed to be amputated.

Since his surgery, Hector has been going from strength to strength, taking to life with three legs with no trouble. And has just found his new loving family 😻

Koalas like Juniper and Cassida need us more than ever 🐨
Every year hundreds of koalas come through our RSPCA Wildlife Hospital, and with it being koala breeding season it's the busiest time of all!

Juniper and Cassida are just 2 of the lucky survivors 💔
Sadly, mum Juniper was hit by a car on the Gold Coast while carrying her tiny joey Cassida.

Rushed to our RSPCA Wildlife Hospital, our vets discovered Juniper had a fractured femur, while little Cassida had suffered an eye injury and abrasions.

Thanks to expert surgery, treatment and several months of recovery and rehabilitation at our RSPCA Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre at Eumundi, this brave duo made a full recovery and were able to be released back into the wild.

But not all koalas get this chance. Approx. 1,200 koalas killed from deforestation every year. Without stronger protections their future remains uncertain.

This Save the Koala Month, you can be a voice for koalas. Ask the Queensland Government to include the following in their new conservation strategy 👇
✅ Removing exemptions for clearing
✅ Prohibiting further clearing of core koala habitat
✅ Providing timely data of population numbers
✅ Investment in habitat restoration, care programs & landholder incentives

Our Clare May Real Estate Adoption House is officially open! 🎉🎉
Over 1,000 families joined us on Sunday for the grand opening and Family Fun Day. It was a fun-filled day of tiny home tours, kids activities live entertainment, and even some of our adorable adoptable pets - it was a celebration to remember! 🐶🐾

This special tiny home is a welcome and much-needed addition at our RSPCA Brisbane Animal Care Campus where families can meet their future pets in a comfy home-like setting 🐶❤️
