Breed season is upon us and we’ve made the decision to reopen Al Capone’s books to outside mares.

He will be standing for live cover here at Gundy as well as having fresh/chilled and frozen semen also available.

His progeny have been outstanding this year. The Al Capone Breeding Incentive went off at the EPIC Horse Sale and Campdraft. Another filly was reserve champion in the 2yr old challenge at the Nutrien Supreme Sale 2025, a yearling gelding sold to $20,000 and the first Al Capone ridden filly to be offered for sale sold for $30,000 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Even though Sweet Talker narrowly missed the The Cloncurry Stockman's Challenge & Campdraft Classic final, (placed 6th in the wet work section), we couldn’t be prouder of these two classic horses. They never stopped trying and we enjoyed every step of their journey this year.

Can’t wait for Sweet Talker’s progeny to start hitting the ground in a few months.

Benalla Stud is owned and run by Drew and Sally Stevenson, who recently relocated to Gundy, NSW. The Benalla Stud prefix was created by Sally's parents back in 1980. Benalla Stud is the home of our resident Stallion, Al Capone.
