It’s a common myth: “Just turn the horse out in the paddock, and time will do the rest.”

For tendon, ligament, and soft tissue injuries, paddock rest alone often leads to weaker repairs and higher chances of re-injury. At Gundy Park, we combine controlled movement, targeted therapies, and professional monitoring to guide healing properly.

The result? Stronger fibres, improved recovery times, and safer returns to training or competition.

Your horse deserves more than rest, they deserve the right rehab.

When it comes to injuries, time is everything. ⏰ Acting fast in the first days after a tendon or ligament injury can completely change the long-term outcome.

At Gundy Park, we see it time and again: horses sent to us immediately after injury respond faster, rebuild stronger, and return to work sooner. Waiting months in a paddock only delays progress and can set your horse back.

✅ Early intervention = better healing, fewer complications, and a safer future.
If your horse has just been injured, don’t wait contact us today and let’s build the right plan from Day 1.

✨ Atomic Gozen ✨

This beautiful filly came to Gundy Park Equine in January with a suspensory branch injury and ongoing fetlock concerns. With a carefully monitored, intensive rehab program, she regained strength and condition before returning to the track under the expert care of David Van D**e and his team.

Since then, she’s had 5 starts for a win, three 2nds and a 4th – an outstanding achievement and a credit to her dedicated owners who acted quickly to give her the very best chance at recovery.

When it comes to tendon and ligament injuries, time matters. Success doesn’t come from six months in a paddock, it comes from early, structured, and tailored rehabilitation from day one.

We’re thrilled to see Atomic Gozen back doing what she loves and are proud to have played a part in her journey. 💙🐴

Ever noticed how horses treat the water treadmill like a gym class?

💦 Some dive straight in like it’s leg day.
💦 Some side-eye it like, “Do I really need to?”
💦 And then there’s the overachiever who tries to splash us all …

✨ Two new arrivals – and on the same day! ✨
We’re thrilled to welcome our first foals of the season – a gorgeous Maurice x Gunmetal Girl filly and a cracking Victor Ludorum x Lady River c**t.

Both made their debut on the very same day, and we couldn’t be happier with these beautiful bubs.

A huge thank you to the incredible team at North Bloodstock especially Mick and Pauline, for the outstanding care you give our mares and the seamless foaling down process. We’re so grateful for your expertise and dedication.

Revolutionising Equine & Canine Rehabilitation

Gundy Park Equine is situated in the picturesque Hunter Region of NSW on the Isis River, 292 km north of Sydney and 15km from Scone. Nestled in the tiny settlement of Gundy, which boasts leading horse studs and well known, prestigious connections, this purpose built state of the art bespoke Equine Rehabilitation & Fitness Centre offers the first ECB Equine/Canine Water Treadmill in Australia.

We provide expert spelling, rehabilitation and fittnes services for both long term and walk in clients.

Aquatic rehabilitation has long been recognised as having beneficial effects. It is a safe and effective treatment option for managing primary musculoskeletal injuries whilst reducing or limiting harmful compensatory gait abnormalities.

Excising in water provides an effective medium for increasing joint mobility, promoting normal patterns of movement, whist reducing the risk of developing secondary compensatory musculoskeletal injuries caused by primary conditions. The enhancement in muscle strength and function whilst decreasing stress and loading of the joints can significantly improve balance, poor motor control and discomfort typically found in horses with osteoarthritic changes.
