We are achieving great results with soft tissue injuries. This is a comparison scan of a recent Thb here for tendon rehabilitation An important aspect in our program is utilisation of the Equine water treadmill. It provides a controlled, low-impact environment for controlled exercise, allowing for gradual strengthening of injured tissues once box rest completed.

The Treadmill allows for precise control over speed and duration of exercise, making it easier to gradually increase the load on the injured tendon.

Low Impact, the buoyancy of the water reducing the impact on the joints and ligaments, allowing the horse to commence exercise without putting undue stress on the healing tissues.

The water provides a gentle resistance that helps strengthen muscles and tendons without the risk of overstressing them. With the chilled cold water helping to reduce inflammation, soothe pain, and promote healing.

And over time we are able to provide controlled progression: with
the water depth and treadmill speed adjusted to control the horse's stride length and frequency, allowing for a more customised and controlled rehabilitation program.

We have been flat-stick rehabbing horses and ponies with tendon injuries and thrilled with the results. It was with sadness and joy to farewell Bubbles and we loved the quote below from his mum............. "For seven long months he’s been with them for rehab after he decided to rip his tendon to shreads for me. From box rest to hand walking, to treadmill and finally water walking, multiple daily meds and creams, they have taken such good care of my little burger and his ever complicated treatment regime.
Today he came home and I had my first sit on him since September. True to form, he was a jerk on the ground and foot perfect under saddle. There’s a long way, and a lot of straight lines to go. We didn’t think we’d make it this far, so onward we quietly go."

There are just no words adequate to describe the sense of sadness with the loss of the amazing Greg Sugars. Our love and thoughts are with Jess and family, at this time.

Harness Racing Victoria extends its deepest condolences to the Sugars family, Jess Tubbs, and all fellow participants following the heartbreaking news of Greg Sugars' passing.

Out of respect for Greg and his family, tonight’s meeting at Melton Entertainment Park has been abandoned.

We have four stable boxes which open up to make double sized stalls as required but particularly ideal for mares and foals. All areas of Horse Shepherd Park including the boxes have 24/7 camera recording, wifi phone monitoring access allowing for regular checks with less disruption for the horses in care.

Our facilities allow us to welcome, all horses and ponies including mares and foals, and stallions and colts for rehabilitation.

An added bonus Ballarat Equine Clinic are in attendance most Thursday's or available as required.
