EOFY Appeal – Be the reason they get a 2nd chance!
As 30 June approaches, we're asking for your support to help keep Horse Shepherd's safety net in place.

What many people don't see is that the work continues long after the rescue photo.

The hay deliveries.
The farrier visits.

Gemma bathed and ready to go home, looking and feeling a million dollars. She has been with us for nearly two months on a personalised water treadmill program getting stronger each week. We wish her the best of luck with her racing career

Nanas Wish has arrived safely after a long journey from NSW. She has been retired from racing with CMR and is with us for rehabilitation before starting her retraining journey.

We were thrilled to see Flying Valley return to the races with a win first-up today.

Flying Valley spent just over three months with us earlier this year, focusing on restoring condition, improving his feet and enjoying some well-earned time away from racing.

Credit must go to the team at CMR Racing, who have done an excellent job bringing him back into work and helping him relax and settle into his racing career.

Congratulations to Fred and CMR Racing. We look forward to following Flying Valley’s progress and wish the team every success for the remainder of his campaign.

A few weeks ago, Millie arrived into our care on behalf of the RSPCA.

Millie was incredibly lame, with badly neglected feet, and was taken into care by us at HSP Advanced Equine while we worked through a rehabilitation plan. Looking at her, we suspected she might be in foal, but what happened next still caught us by surprise.

Millie decided to have her foal a little earlier than planned — around 3 to 4 weeks early.

What followed were some very anxious days. Tiny Juno was small, fragile and for a while it was touch and go. To make matters more complicated, poor Millie had to come into milk. Thank you to Emma and her team at Equivets for the help and support.

Three weeks later, we now have a feisty little red mare on our hands who is making up for lost time. Juno has attitude in spades and is keeping everyone on their toes.

Thank you to heritage hoof care for aiding in the recovery of Millie’s lameness. It is a work in progress but things are looking hopeful.
