Meet the Team Tuesday!

Welcome back to the team Nurse Kim

What made you choose to be a vet nurse? The love of animals and wanting to teach pet parents the importants and different care animals need.

What is your favourite part about being a vet nurse and working at Midwest Vets? My favourite part would be seeing the patients recover and get to go home to their pet parents. I love working at Midwest vets. Its lovely to be in a workplace where it feels like a family and having such caring and supporting management.

A fun fact about yourself that you feel free to share that people may not realise about you. My favourite animals is the Dairy cow. Fourite sea creature is the sea turtle. Growing up i had always wanted to be a vet nurse or Zoologist.

Nurse Kim has returned to the team after taking some time off for her children and you'll find her on the reception desk.

Meet the Team Tuesday!

Our resident Kiwi Dr Felicity

Why did you decide to become a vet?

I chose to become a veterinarian because no two days are ever the same. I love the challenge of solving everyday medical mysteries and the constant opportunity to learn. This profession also offers the flexibility to travel and work in different places, which really appealed to me. Most of all, I value the chance to build long-lasting relationships with people, townies and farmers alike, while caring for their animals.

What do you love most about working at Midwest Vets?

I genuinely thrive on the variety of our caseload — both during regular hours and through the after-hours service. The emergency cases, while often more emotionally charged, offer a meaningful opportunity to make a difference when it truly matters and to strengthen the connections we already have within the community. The people — and animals — I’ve met here have already made a lasting impact on me, and I’d love to continue building those relationships as part of this team.

What's a fun fact about yourself?

Anyone who’s met me has probably picked up on my Kiwi accent — which makes sense, since that’s where I grew up. What most people don’t realise, though, is that my mum is British and my dad is Fijian, so I’ve been lucky to grow up with a mix of cultures. I’ve also been fortunate enough to do a bit of travelling already, and I hope to keep exploring new places for the rest of my life.

Dr Felicity has a zest for life and adventure and we hope she continues to pursue these passions!
