🐣 Classroom Spotlight! 🐣

A huge congratulations to St Francis Xavier's Primary School on their incredible Hatching Chicks experience!

They created an amazing classroom setup and even recorded the entire hatching journey over the two-week program. Best of all, they achieved an incredible 100% hatch rate! 🎉🐥

What a fantastic effort by the students and teachers. Thank you for providing such a wonderful environment for the hatchlings and making the experience so memorable.

📍Shell Cove Public School

Our Kindergarten students have been excitedly exploring the life cycle of living things through our recent Hatching Chicks program. This hands-on experience supported learning in the NSW Science syllabus (ES1), particularly in understanding how animals grow and change over time.

Throughout the program, students observed the development of chicks from eggs to hatchlings, learning about what living things need to survive, including food, water,
warmth and care. They explored how chicks are covered in soft down feathers when they hatch, which help keep them warm, and how these change as they grow. Students
also discussed how different animals have different body coverings, such as feathers or fur, depending on their needs.

This engaging experience sparked curiosity, encouraged scientific thinking and helped students make real-world connections to how living things develop and thrive. It was
wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they asked questions, made observations and reflected on the growth and needs of animals.

Each class named two of the chicks, we will all be so sad to see them return to the farm as we will miss seeing them develop each and every day.
