A collar can fall off but a microchip lasts a lifetime.

At Brisbane Pet Surgery, microchipping costs $45 and takes about 5 minutes, providing lifelong contact identification for your pet.

If you’re unsure of your pet’s status, please call the clinic to book a check or update your details. Note: ownership changes must be completed directly through the registry.

Everyone meet Toby and Binky! The much-loved sidekicks of our nurse manager Laura🐾
These two gorgeous cherubs were both rescues, they are just too cute to resist!
Binky (also known as bug) is very sassy, loves butt smacks and a smooch. She’s very intelligent and knows tricks! She has crazy zoomies after midnight
Toby (also known as lil man) is very special! He loves to cuddle all the time, a big mummy’s boy and loves his stinky mouse!! He’s very naughty and likes to play with EVERYTHING that isn’t a toy
Both would eat until the pass out they love ham or chicken!!! And peas and broccoli and sweetcorn!

Missed one month of prevention OR adopted a pet with an unknown history? We strongly advise a quick heartworm test for peace of mind 💙 Before starting or restarting heartworm prevention, it’s a good idea to know your dog’s heartworm status 🐶 Some preventatives may not be suitable for dogs who already have heartworm disease - and many pets show no signs at all! Heartworms are spread by mosquito bites and can live in your pet’s heart, lungs, and blood vessels ❤️
Year-round prevention is simple, safe and much easier than treating heartworm disease later on.

🐱 FIV Testing Special 🐱

For a limited time, we’re offering discounted FIV testing while stocks last.

With a quick and easy blood test, cats can be screened for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), sometimes called “feline AIDS”. FIV affects a cat’s immune system and can make them more vulnerable to infections and illness over time. Many FIV-positive cats can still live long and happy lives with appropriate care and management.

Testing is especially recommended for:
• Newly adopted cats.
• Cats with unknown histories.
• Outdoor or roaming cats.
• Cats involved in fights or bite wounds.
• Unwell cats with ongoing infections or weight loss.

FIV testing appointments are available for $51.00, including consultation. Already attending for another reason? Testing can be added to your consult for $21.00.

We offer FIV vaccination at $50.00 per vaccination. The initial course consists of 3 vaccinations given 2 weeks apart, followed by annual boosters to maintain protection.

Early testing helps owners make informed decisions about management, introductions to other cats, and long-term care.

🐾Our blood donor superstar, Manaia 48kg of fluff and pure heart.

As a Leonberger, Manaia embodies the breed’s well known protective and supportive nature and today was no exception. When a very sick pup needed help, Mum and Manaia didn’t hesitate to put their hands and paws up.

DONOR FOUND!, thank you for everyone who has reached out :)

Brisbane Pet Surgery are looking for a medium-large (ideally 30kg+) between the ages of 1-3 years old who can donate blood today urgently. Must be in good, healthy condition and can sit still for a blood draw (no wriggly, hyperactive dogs please)

If you know of someone that can help, please get the word out and we can pay the owner/rescue $300 for their time and donation. We will add to this post with updates and will know within a couple of hours whether we definitely need someone.
