Does your cat disappear the moment the carrier comes out?
A calmer vet visit starts at home — and continues with the little things we do here at Wilston Vet.
Before your visit
Leave the carrier out as part of the furniture, with the door open, familiar bedding and a few treats inside. Give your cat time to explore at their own pace, well before appointment day, so it becomes a familiar resting spot.
When you’re here
Pheromone sprays, tasty cat treats where appropriate, and gentle, patient handling help us make visits more comfortable. We get to know your cat’s preferences — including when they need a little space.
For cats who need extra support
Speak with us before your appointment about pre-visit anti-anxiety medication or sedation. Our vets can advise whether it’s suitable for your cat and explain how to use it.
If they’re staying with us
Our separate cat ward gives feline patients their own space away from the dogs, with large cages, cosy hidey holes and soft, snuggly blankets to settle into.
Whether your cat is curious, cautious or firmly in the “please admire me from a distance” camp, we’ll work with them.
Worried about their next visit? Call our familiar team on 07 3357 3882 so we can plan ahead together.
