Today, we celebrate World Veterinary Day! Let's give a round of applause to all the dedicated veterinarians who work tirelessly to care for our beloved pets and animals. Their expertise and compassion keep our furry, feathered, and scaled friends healthy and happy.
Join us in thanking the vets who make a difference every day. Whether it's in a clinic, on a farm, or in a lab, their work is vital to the well-being of animals and communities worldwide.
Share a photo of your pet and tag your favorite vet to show them some love! π
Today, we honor the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our freedom. On this ANZAC Day, we pay tribute to the courage, service, and sacrifice of our Australian and New Zealand soldiers. Let us never forget their contributions and the spirit of camaraderie that defines our nations.
Take a moment of silence at dawn to remember those who served and those who continue to serve. Lest we forget.
We arenβt sure who had more fun today, Dr Banjo and Nurse Leiha or the amazing kids of Dubbo who attend Kidscape Dubbo.
We canβt wait to start receiving their artwork to display at the clinic!
Thank you for having us Kidscape Dubbo
Meet Pixie, one of the best equine patients we could have the pleasure to care for.
Pixie spent the day at our clinic stable so we could run some tests to rule out equine metabolic syndrome and Cushings.
Dr Banjo and nurse Kira are pictured here taking some X-rays to determine the extent of her laminitis.
π Laminitis is a serious condition affecting horses' hooves, causing inflammation and pain in the sensitive laminae, which connect the hoof wall to the coffin bone. It can be triggered by various factors like diet, obesity, overexertion, or metabolic issues. Early detection and prompt veterinary care are crucial for managing laminitis and preventing long-term damage.
We love our furry friends like family and sometimes feel guilt tripped into feeding them the yummy food we get to eat.
As a result of feeding cooked bones this little one received a crown-root slab fracture of the upper carnassial tooth which as you could imagine was a very painful experience.
If you have any questions about your pets diet we are happy to answer them.
An eventful Sunday morning for Dr Banjo. He helped a cow deliver her bull calf via a cesarean section. Both mum and baby are doing great! π

π¨ PSA for Pet Parents! π¨
ππ Did you know that raisins can be hazardous to our furry friends? πΎπ
π« Despite their small size, raisins and grapes can cause big problems for dogs, potentially leading to kidney failure. Even a small amount can be toxic and should be kept far away from your pets.
π©ββοΈπΆ If you suspect your pet has ingested raisins, seek veterinary care immediately. Symptoms may include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and decreased urination.
π‘ Prevention is key! Be mindful of foods containing raisins, such as trail mix and certain baked goods, and ensure they are safely stored away from curious noses.
πΎ Let's keep our furry friends safe and healthy!
π¨ Attention Pet Parents! π¨
π«πΎ Did you know that chocolate can be toxic to our furry friends? πΎπ«
π« As tempting as it may be to share that tasty treat with your pet, please remember that chocolate is toxic for your pets. Even small amounts can lead to serious health issues, including vomiting, diarrhea, rapid breathing, increased heart rate, and even seizures.
π©ββοΈπΆ If you suspect your pet has ingested chocolate, don't wait! Seek immediate veterinary assistance. The sooner we intervene, the better the outcome for your beloved companion.
π‘ Prevention is key! Keep all chocolate products safely out of reach of your pets, and be extra cautious during holidays like Easter when chocolate treats are abundant.
