Annie Bannie, Bannikins, Banannie ❤️❤️❤️ 2005 - 2026 🪽🪽🪽
We had to say goodbye to my beautiful Annie yesterday, such an incredible soul with an enormous heart. The most wonderful nature and so gentle despite her enormous frame, the best keeper of the peace in the paddock, the most power over the jumps, the sweetest nicker when she saw me, and the kids 🥰 even to the very end.
Annie and I had a wonderful career together when I got home from America, jumping up to 1.40m and in plenty of futurities and at the big shows - SIEC, WC shows, Sydney Royal - and also carried my student to some amazing performances in junior classes while I was pregnant.
Then she became a mother herself, producing her only foal by Calgary GNZ, a gelding called LE Calvyn who is following in her footsteps and making great progress in the jumping arena.
She was an amazing friend and comforter to me, even with her fire breathing antics in the warmup ring (could only jump a few jumps before she was leaping in the air or going sideways) and was never easy to drench or give anything in the mouth to (I was the only one who could do it, one time she wouldn't even let anyone else put a bridle on her), but she always gave her best effort and tried her hardest for me. She loved cuddles and scratches and carrots. She loved the kids giving her pats and would always be gentle with them, and was the best babysitter of the youngsters these past few years, even though her own baby had moved on.
I love you more than I can say, my beautiful girl, I wish we had more time together, but I'm so grateful we had 13 years together, and you will be in my heart forever ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
