Vale Steven Butler

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve Butler, a cherished member of the Dubbo Pony Club. Steve's dedication and passion for our club spanned over a few decades , during which he made an indelible impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Steve joined our club with his son Michael, who started riding at the age of 8. Over the years, Steve's commitment to the club never wavered. Even after his active membership, he continued to judge at gymkhanas and assist with club activities until 2023. His contributions as the Senior Instructor in 2017 and 2018, and his role on the Leadership Board alongside David Duffy, were invaluable.

Steve was not only a skilled instructor but also a compassionate mentor. He often rode his own horse with the other riders, sharing his wisdom and always lightening the mood with his signature dad jokes. His kindness and dedication to teaching were evident in every piece of advice he gave, always prioritizing the learning and safety of his riders.

Steve's selflessness and commitment to the development of our riders will be deeply missed. He taught us not only about riding but also about understanding and respecting the unique language of each horse. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to learn from him.

Rest in peace, Steve. Your contributions to the Dubbo Pony Club will never be forgotten.

What a wonderful day we had today for our Sporting Day!

With Juniors in the morning and Adults in the afternoon everyone had a chance for some fun!!

The kids took the reins and ran the adults section - they timed, scored, did placings and ribbons - and had an absolute ball doing it! 🤣

Congratulations to these champions and reserve champions (and also those not pictured) for the day and Thankyou to Horseland Dubbo for the generous sponsorship once again!

A huge Thankyou to everyone who came and rode at our Dubbo Pony Club Showjumping, Dressage and Gymkhana weekend for 2024!

There was great riding, sportsmanship and horsemanship over 2 wonderful days.

Had a great rally day yesterday. With a few of our members away competing at Cudal Show the remaining members were able to get more 1 on 1 instruction with our guest instructor. A big thank you to Fiona Wright for her expert instruction. The kids all took something away from it to work on at home

Massive Congratulations to our club member Makayla and all the other zone four riders who have been at state sporting this weekend.
The grounds weren't the best with 40 Mil of rain but Makayla still managed to get some great results in such hard riding conditions.
You should be very proud.
