Busy weekend training foals, brushing mares, moving ponies. Finished this afternoon with these three idiots. Geez they make me laugh.

Ropes training for the boys today. Now that we are completely comfortable with ropes over the body, neck and can put them around their rump, legs, slide them up and down legs and pick up feet with them it’s time to get comfortable dragging them around. Finn has never really cared about the ropes, Pod was a little more uncertain so I spent more time ensuring he was comfortable before dragging them as I didn’t want him spooking himself and getting hurt. To start with I left Pods rope over his back and let the mares and Finn drag their ropes so Pod had plenty of exposure before dropping his on the ground as well. By the end of this first dragging lesson Pod was happy, both boys stepping on their ropes and werent bothered by it and Finn started a bit of leading with pressure as well. I should add, after all the ropes training, putting their halters on was a complete non event. Third time with their halters on and neither of them could care less. 😊

TriColby Hodgepodge will make an outstanding ridden gelding, estimated to mature approximately 13hh, same height as his dam. He is by The Ants Pants (imp) out of Gwyn Du Valley Mariah.

The Ants Pants (imp) tried the stallion harness on him today. The bridle is way too big, Im going to get a new bridle made, I can deal with the rest of it 😊 Still looks sexy on him lol.

Ants is available at stud this season via frozen semen. He now has semen stored at Cannibal Creek vet in VIC as well as QLD.

Dam: Gwyn Du Valley Mariah, 13hh. Bloodlines include Clononeen Double Tumble, Tumbleweed, Jango Dancer of Brackenhill and Vines & Frainy lines

Pod is estimated to make around 12.3-13hh and will be a heavy hairy little lad. Will leave as a gelding, be registered apsb/aghs, taught to lead, tie, float, brushed, trimmed and started on obstacles. He is a friendly sweet little man just like his parents, well put together and will be suitable for showing, harness, pony club and a general all-rounder.
