Vets are currently seeing fresh cases of the fatal Parvovirus every week in the Geelong region.

**PLEASE make sure you are up to date with vaccinations to keep your animal safe. A preventable disease doesn’t need to take your loved one.

Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease that can affect unvaccinated dogs and puppies. The virus spreads easily through contaminated environments and can survive for long periods in the environment.

Symptoms may include:
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Severe diarrhoea (often bloody)
🐾 Lethargy
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Dehydration

If your dog is not up to date with their vaccinations, please don't delay. Vaccination is the best protection against this devastating disease.

Congratulations, Puppy Skills Graduates! 🎓🐾

Our first Puppy Skills program at Wantirna Vet Clinic has just wrapped up, and what a lovely little group it was!

Each puppy brought their own personality to class. Clover took everything in her stride with her laid-back approach, Kobe was always ready to learn something new, and Luna kept us entertained with her enthusiasm and zest for life.

It has been a pleasure supporting these teams. Congratulations to everyone on completing the program. Keep practising, keep having fun, and enjoy watching your puppies continue to learn and grow. 💜

A Sneak Peek from Class!

We were delighted to have Nic Palich Photo visit some of our classes recently and capture these lovely images of Badger, a beautiful Border Collie puppy.

What I love about these photos is that Badger isn't performing tricks or working through an exercise. Instead, he's practising one of the most important life skills a dog can learn. Calmly relaxing on his mat while we discuss the next exercise and important training concepts with his guardian.

Badger previously completed our Puppy Skills program and is now continuing his learning journey in Senior Puppy. It's wonderful to see how much he has grown in confidence and self-control as he progresses through his training.

Learning isn't always about doing more. Sometimes it's about learning how to switch off, settle, and feel comfortable in different environments.

These quiet moments are a big part of helping puppies develop the skills they need for everyday life, and Badger is doing a wonderful job.
