These two continue to impress me! Georgie and Arlo have both come a long way since we first started training. Arlo had no interest in listening to Georgie or anyone else when at the park. The people/dogs/smells and sounds were far too interesting for him. He was also extremely reactive to other dogs. Here Georgie is recalling him under distraction! And they both smashed it today!!

Hard to believe this little pup is already 14 weeks old! We recently took him camping, great exposure to many different things: he swam for the first time, he saw a campfire, fishing, boats, went to the local dog friendly pub and entertained everyone at the bar and then got tired and needed a rest in the pram on the way home. This little pup is happy to be put in any situation and takes it all in his stride! He had a ball camping on what will be his first of many 😎

I love it when a client listens to advice. This is Rocky being fed in a clam shell pool. It will help him to feel more confident in the water. Prior to this, Rocky wouldn’t step foot in water! Great job!!!

It takes a team effort to raise a puppy. Today Michelle spent some time showing Max some more of the whole wide world. Owning a puppy is exhausting, but the effort you put in during the critical development period (6-16 wks) will significantly impact the dog you have as an adult.

Why do we want Max calm around Horses?

Well, if we teach him to be calm around horses (and any livestock/other animals etc) during the Critical Development Period, he will file that away in his brain and access it when/if he ever comes across one later in life. Then he will most likely be able to take it all in his stride. Kirstie plans on taking Max everywhere with her as an adult dog, in particularly to clients house to help rehabilitate/train other dogs. Max will be no good to the clients if he is reactive to livestock that may be around.

This is Max’s second exposure to livestock. The first time he reacted slightly which is understandable for a small puppy. Through careful exposure, today Max just chilled out.

This hard work now will make life easier in the end!
