😲😲 Actually it doesn't feel that bad 😎 That was at the corner of Antimony Mine Rd - thought I should pull over and take a shot of it !! It was 45 all the way to Merrimu.
The dogs have slept all afternoon in here and the cats are comfy in the aircon 😺
Thinking of everybody in the Otways 😢

I have several individual dressing packs (from my care of an elderly friend, since passed). Any wildlife rescue groups interested? Seems a waste to throw them away.

It's so upsetting to see signs everywhere you go, begging you to not be abusive or threatening to staff 😢.....retail, medical, veterinary....everywhere.

Just a quick thank you to everybody that gives their Zenchel dogs the best life, including (but not limited to!) the owners who "do things" or allow me to "do things" with their dogs!
At the Labrador Retriever Club of Victoria Championship Show yesterday, Rebecca Kearney's Wyatt won best Neuter Dog and Bertie was second in Intermediate Dog and third in QC/CD!
Kiara's Gus was second in Australian Bred Dog and Vera was second in QC/CD
Kirsten's Harri won QC/CD !
Anne and Frank's Willson was reserve Challenge Dog
Sara's Nina was Neuter In Show !

Thank you so much for giving these dogs such a wonderful life 🙏

The temperatures and winds do not seem to be approaching the extremes that were feared. The Zenchel crew are staying put, hoping there will be no uncontrollable breakout from the Bullengarook fire.

Best wishes to Julia and Gary and all involved with the Gisborne Kennels evacuation and fingers crossed for an uneventful day in Bullengarook.

Thank you so much for so many offers of help if we need it - very grateful 💗

It seems bizarre sending this message out whilst looking for a jumper to put on as it's pretty chilly this morning....however.....
I have been keeping up with the fire reports from Gisborne in relation to the Bullengarook fire. Thursday is looking bad, with extreme temperatures, low humidity and severe northerly winds.

Despite the advice level for the Bullengarook fire area having been downgraded from Watch and Act to Advice this morning, there is concern that on Thursday the fire could head south and reach Toolern Vale. There is a possibility that the fire danger rating could reach catastrophic, which has always been the trigger for me to evacuate.

I have arrangements in place for all the animals here to be taken to a place of safety in Bacchus Marsh, if necessary. I have been in touch with clients that are booked to come on Thursday morning and requested they make other arrangements until possibly Friday, when hopefully things will have settled down.

Now it's raining heavily - let's hope it is in Bullengarook !!

Keep everything crossed - I will update when things become clearer 🤞🤞

Rest assured, the animals will be safe and appropriately cared for.

"Silv" needs a new family - she was surrendered due to family circumstances through no fault of her own. She is 7 years old and a Labrador/Greyhound cross. She is very healthy, vaccinated and desexed.

Her Labrador genes make her very intelligent; she is very well trained; she gets on very well with other dogs and lives happily in the house. She is not a fence jumper.

Her Greyhound genes make her slim and fit. She cannot live with cats or other small pets or possums. Sometimes she will do a runner whilst off lead in an open area.
