Our rehab yards are now undercover 🙌🏼
Horses requiring confined rehabilitation now have the luxury of being out in the fresh air no matter the weather, with a lovely view to help keep boredom at bay. These yards are a great alternative to 24/7 box confinement and are complimented by our equine treadmill when controlled exercise is required.
We have already had great success with every horse that has been rehabilitated here and we are looking forward to helping many more!🐴

Even though we’re no longer offering pre-training as a service, it’s fantastic to see the horses that have been in our care still having plenty of success. Michelle Payne’s recent winners Flag Edition, Mark The Horse and Jukila were all Trafalgar Lodge graduates; and today the Hayes/Dabernig trained Just Cainme Archie (pictured) won her maiden with ease.
Seeing Archie win today was particularly rewarding as she was a very tricky filly to ride and had four pre-training preparations with us due to her physical and mental immaturity. Fortunately, she has a wonderful patient owner who was happy to give her all the time she needed and because of this she didn’t start a race preparation until she was ready.
We’re so thrilled to see her reaching the potential we always thought she had, congratulations to everyone involved 🌟👏🏼

We’ve been a bit quiet on this page for the past few months! This is mostly due to us no longer offering pre-training as a service since December last year when Emily took on a new job with the Australian Sports Foundation.

However there has still been plenty happening with the horses! From Emily competing very successfully with her mare Ruby to us continuing to rehab injured and post surgery horses for clients, we like to keep ourselves busy 😅

Both of us work from home so we are still able to offer rehabilitation as a service and provide the same high level of care we are known for, so for anyone that is struggling to find a rehabilitation facility please be aware that we can still help you 😊

It was fantastic to see Flag Edition win effortlessly today at just her third career start, giving the impression that there are bigger things in store. Congratulations to Michelle Payne and First Light Racing who gave this lovely mare all the time she needed and are now being rewarded for their patience 👏🏼

Congratulations to Pat Carey and the connections of Tippitywichit who was a dominant winner at Pakenham today, strolling in by 3 lengths! Third up since being pre-trained at Trafalgar Lodge, he seemed to appreciate the rise in distance along with being back on a firm surface after running on heavy tracks in his two starts prior.
This big gelding was a bit of a challenge to begin with as he was so unbalanced and incapable of engaging his hindquarters that he couldn’t even canter through the corners of the arena, which just makes this result all the more rewarding 🙌🏼

Tenacity Miss certainly lived up to her name today with a tough fighting win at Ballarat, congratulations to Michelle Payne and her team 👏🏼👏🏼 This quirky little filly was pre-trained at Trafalgar Lodge and we were so thrilled to see her in the winners circle!

These four lovely racehorses all recently completed their pre-training and look to have successful preparations ahead 🏇🤞🏻

Trafalgar Lodge currently has two spaces available for pre-training/rehab or dressage/showjumping education. Spaces never last long so please PM this page or call to make a booking.

Arrival 👉🏼 departure. This filly made huge progress during her pre-training and is now ready to commence her first prep with David Hayes. She has been a stable favourite and we can’t wait to see how she performs at the races 🌟
