That fluffy winter coat may feel soft on top, but knots can begin forming underneath without being easy to see. 🐶

The areas I most commonly find hidden matting are:

Behind the ears
Under the legs
Around the collar or harness
The tail and back legs

Try gently separating the coat with your fingers and brushing in small sections rather than only brushing over the surface.

If your brush cannot move comfortably from the skin through to the ends, there may already be tangles developing underneath.

Regular brushing and grooming can help keep the coat comfortable, healthy and much easier to manage as we head toward spring. 🐾🤍

As woman with a small business and three young children, I’ve had bosses who’ve intentionally taught me the bare minimum so I couldn’t go out on my own, I’ve had bosses who’ve taught me everything I needed to know so that I could go out on my own Debbie Hart, I’ve had friends who’ve s**t me down and told me my ideas were stupid and I couldn’t do it, I’ve had friends who’ve helped me build something amazing Megan Camp, that have built me up and shown me how to reach my full potential.
Ive recently gone back to work for
with who taught me how to groom. What I’ve noticed since going back, is that this salon is completely committed to excellence, continuing ongoing training you are amazing and have taught me so much in so little time. I admire the work we do at Central Bark, I admire the commitment Deb has to upskilling staff constantly paying for training for us.
Above all I am grateful for the way she has built me up and believed in me along the way.
If you are a young woman a young mother and you’re in a job and you’re not progressing ask yourself are you there just to serve your boss and get their bank balance up, while you collect your pay check week after week?
You have options, you can work for someone who also works to teach you and build you up to be your best self.
My point is, we are who we surround ourselves with, we create our value and our worth but our environment is a big influence,

Being a small business I’ve really learned how important it is to have a good relationship with my clients, I know that all my clients come to me because they value the personal experience they get when they come to my salon. I’ve been blessed in my career to have amazing mentors who taught me I only have to do what I like doing. I used to Thi k I had to rush to take any client, at the cheapest possible price, I’ve now learned and curated my business and my client demographic as such that when I put my prices up ( first time in 3 years) not one client bats an eyelid because they come to me for the service they get.. the personal relationship we have built over the years, or months I’ve looked after their fur babies. I truly value each and every client I have, you guys mean the world to me, and if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be. So truly from the bottom of my heart thank you.
And the amazing groomers Debbie Hart for teaching me everything I know, and showing me how to be resilient, when I come to you crying about a client ( rarely) and you remind me I don’t want that kind of client 😂. Truly thank you.
I’m proud of the business I have built 🐾❤️

As we slowly move toward a seasonal change, here are a few things worth checking:

✔ behind ears
✔ under collars
✔ around tails
✔ paw pads
✔ coat thickness

Little checks now can help prevent bigger grooming issues later 🐶

Prevention is always easier than fixing severe matting 🐾

I offer calm, one-on-one grooming appointments so each dog receives my full attention during their visit.

On rare occasions, there may be a brief crossover if a client is running late to collect their dog or the next client arrives earlier than their scheduled appointment.

If it’s important that your dog has absolutely no contact or crossover with another dog, please let me know when booking. I’ll make sure extra time is allowed between appointments so your dog can enjoy a completely private visit. 🤍

Even though we’re still in winter, coat changes often start before people realise 🐶❄️➡️🌸

This is when I often begin seeing:

• thicker coats holding loose fur
• hidden knots forming
• more coat maintenance needed

Staying on top of grooming now helps keep things easier moving into the next season.

Healthy coat
Comfortable dog
Cleaner home 🐾
