Isn't it funny the things that are meant for you. I tried to stop trimming some time ago and just kept my favs but the horses keep coming. I got to trim this lovely lady today she had been bushed for sometime, wouldn't even bend her legs, but would let me pick them up and straight forward. Took my time with her, talked to her and by the time we reached the back feet she was letting me rest them on the stand. It took some time, but she even picked up the last one for me. She had been busy trimming herself for a very long time so she had some very long front toes and some pressure lines from lack of regular trimming I will get a photo of before next time. My main focus was making her feel safe and appreciated.❤️✌️

Nice to see people in the far north out riding again finally. Hoping to do some myself this weekend. Bit fit today for an OTT with not alot of room in the mouth needing a softer bit to encourage him to seek the contact while being dressage legal, Neue Schulz Trans angle for the win (Bottom bit)!.

So the other night I was swapping my trimming tools from my truck to my small car in prep for trimming the next morning. I accidentally picked my tool wrap up the wrong way and my GE nippers landed on my foot. Swellings finally gone down and we now have a nice blue foot, photo doesn't do it justice! Only lost 2 trimming days......🩹🩺

Queensland itch & rain scold free Benny this wet season , no rugging, no treatments, no big sprays, no sugary itch free, just diet diet diet. Even brought the treatment cream from the vet as back up. No mane hogging this year either!

Having one of those I hope I shut and locked the horse paddock gate, has been a huge day and had to get sand in shelters if anyone goes past can they just check I'm 90% sure but my ADHD brain has anxiety over it!

Hi Everyone happy 2025🤙🤙🤙🤙
I will be back trimming from end of week. There will be a $5 price increase, cause things are expensive now. I will also not be going out and catching horses this year (unless they are the easy ones I am already doing that come straight to me) To many times last year I went out and attempted to catch horses that needed more handling or owners to be present. Horses were not good to trim and they were also a nightmare to catch, and I received no thanks, so no extras this year. This year I will be trimming But I will be working a lot more with my own horses and only trimming on certain days. Please also spray your horses, if I turn up too poo covered paddocks and no fly spray on horses or available insect repellent I am simply going to walk away this year, plenty of farriers to choose from so I keep hearing. To all my lovely ongoing clients that missed out before my Christmas break I will be InTouch end of week to organise. I hope you all had an amazing Christmas. Here's to 2025 horse adventures!

Have an exit plan for your horses folks! Likely tropical low to bring lots of rain. Even if not at least you had a plan.

⚠️Tropical Low likely to develop near Townsville tomorrow⚠️
👉A cooler drier stable southerly airmass has pushed north past Rockhampton and Emerald.
☀️Fine sunny conditions across the southern half of QLD for the next 4 days. 💨 The strong gusty SE winds will ease back from tomorrow.
🔴 A very humid tropical airmass over the northern half of the state will produce plenty of storms and rain areas today and tonight. ⛈️Activity is likely to have heavy rain so flash flooding is a risk.
🔴 A broad low pressure system will drag topical north west to north east winds into a convergence area from Cairns to Townsville along a south east wind convergence reaching Mackay tonight. ⛈️This will lead to a high risk of very heavy rain and storms causing flash flooding in these areas overnight into tomorrow.
🔴 A tropical low is likely to develop along the coast near Townsville during Friday with a continued heavy rain and flood threat between Mackay and Cairns⛈️
🔴The low is then forecast to track east into the Coral Sea over the weekend with lingering storms north from about Townsville to Mt Isa⚡️ Will it form into a cyclone? Maybe...

The amount of times I here "oh he's/ shes going to waste in the paddock, needs to be worked". That's not an object in your paddock/field that's your friend so how can your friend be going to waste if you have a connection and they have given you there all. There are other things we can do for our horses if we truly love them. As far as I'm concerned there are a lot of ppl in this world who should never be aloud to own animals. My animals stay with me for life!!

How beautiful is Jewel, I've been trimming her a very long time across 2 owners. Being my other job is a mental health lifestyle mentor. I've always been passionate about animal mental wellness also, as this is often over looked. We tend look more at the physical side of things. I've loved studying the mental health of horses and learning Horse and Dog focused animal communication. This means I spend a lot of time observing their facial expressions, body language, confirmation, patterns, triggers & their personalities and behaviour. .But I had to share beautiful Jewel the Australian riding pony as after each hoof I don't get a lick or a chew straight up, her whole face expression lightens and she smiles like a person for a few minutes then a big lock and a chew❤️❤️❤️

Sometimes we take for granted just how much our horse friends do for us. The levels they go to in competition for us & the things they are willing to do for us. So next time you want to scream, whip or keep kicking hard at your horse for not following your instruction. Maybe you should pause and make sure you're reading the "room" properly, instead of thinking your horse is just being naughty. The best thing we can do for our horses while in their company is be present & understanding, not selfish and egotistical.
