I always knew so much finger painting as a kid would come in handy one day, we basically just grab size appropriate handfuls of tile pointing for the section we are doing rub it all around and in the cracks then use the brush to smooth it out properly and get to spots fingers don’t fit, it’s a messy way of doing it and the clean up sucks but the backgrounds still turn out pretty good.
It’s definitely an odd way to coat your backgrounds but we are an odd bunch and don’t do anything the normal way.
Majority of the background has already had three coats, there was just some sections we missed and weren’t happy with, finished all them up today and we will do a final coat tomorrow ( I say that but there’s a high chance it won’t happen ) then start on on the airbrushing and detailing the rocks. 🐍🐊🦎
