๐พ Patient Spotlight: Dolly the Pug ๐พ
When adorable little Dolly first visited our team at Burpengary Family Vets, her owners were concerned about some ongoing skin issues. During her consultation, another concern was mentioned โ Dolly's urine had been looking a little unusual.
While skin problems may have been the reason for her visit, further investigation revealed there was something much more significant going on.
Using diagnostic imaging, including radiographs and ultrasound, our team discovered that Dolly had a large bladder stone that would require surgical removal.
After discussing the findings and treatment options with her family, Dolly was booked in for surgery. Dr Madi successfully performed a cystotomy (bladder stone removal surgery) here at Burpengary Family Vets, removing the stone and helping Dolly get back on the road to recovery.
We're pleased to report that Dolly handled her anaesthetic beautifully, recovered comfortably in our oxygenated recovery ward, and was able to head home the very same day.
Today, Dolly returned for her four-day post-operative check-up, and we were delighted to hear she has been back to her happy self ever since surgery.
Dolly's story is a great reminder that even subtle changes, such as unusual urine colour, can sometimes indicate an underlying health issue.
Early investigation and treatment can make all the difference.
Thank you to Dolly's family for trusting us with her care. We can't wait to see her again soon! โค๏ธ
