Then and now!
Five years ago, Ava came into our care. She had just lost her sibling to severe anaemia and was battling it herself. Because of this, she was surrendered to us. Dr Kym took her in, and so began her journey of healing.
With time (plus a whole lot of patience for a now boisterous and energetic puppy), Dr Kym helped Ava grow into a happy and healthy version of herself.
In 2022, Ava found her forever home with one of our incredible clients, who at the time was also suffering from a loss. They were exactly what each other needed. Divine intervention with a hint of facilitation.
Fast forward to today, and Ava’s story continues to be something special. Turning six this December, she has flourished into the most gentle and intuitive companion. She now spends her days bringing comfort to patients living with dementia.
When she’s not on the dementia ward, she’s at home being a devoted canine carer to her owner, who is currently recovering from her third hip fracture, ouch! Thankfully, she’s on the mend.
From a difficult beginning to a life full of purpose, Ava is an inspiring reminder of the resilience animals carry and the unconditional love they give. We’re so proud to have been a small part of her journey, and we always treasure her visits 🤍
