About Me

Who is Eliesha (El) Thompson of E.J.T Equestrian

My love of horses was passed down from my great grandmother that was a great horsewoman in her days, now I have caught that passion. Thanks to my amazing riding coach for helping me find my talent with horses. I am an equine loving female from Brisbane Australia, I have studied online horse courses and even taught myself how to break a

horse in. My goal in life is to teach people to understand their horses better by seeing how they learn and have more fun, joy in their equine partner. I have been near horses my whole life started riding at 6years of age. Understanding horse behaviour and how sensitive, nervous and even stubborn horses, learn and change how they behave to humans have taught them the incorrect ways. In 2014 I bought my soul mate Pharaoh that has taught me how horses learn and behave, when I bought him he was skin and bones. I got him to his healthy side and living life in his old age. Buddy is slow to grasp trotting under saddle due to incorrect training in the past. He needs to be reintroduced to the trot using correct, patient, and consistent training methods that rebuild his understanding and confidence.

New Project Horse – Kosie
Kosie is an unbroken and unhandled brumby from the Kosciuszko Mountains. Despite his wild beginnings, he is exceptionally light on his feet and shows a natural willingness to please. He is thoughtful, athletic, and already displaying a kind, trainable mindset. This project will focus on building trust, confidence, and a solid foundation while respecting his background and instincts.

Buddy has been with me for a week now, focusing on learning pressure and release, leg aids and rein aids, becoming confident and safe to ride, and beginning float training.
Unfortunately, when Buddy was originally broken in, the process was done too quickly and with too much pressure, which has affected his understanding and confidence.
