It's Tick Season!🐱🐢

Tick season is officially here - running from EKKA right through to Valentines Day in Brisbane.
This is the busiest time of year for tick paralysis, and we're already seeing cases coming through the clinic.

Please check your pets daily.
Especially: around the head, neck and ears, under the collar, between the toes, under the legs and tail and through the coat for any small lumps.

Keep your pet protected:
Stay up to date with tick prevention, use year-round tick control for both dogs and cats. If your pet becomes wobbly, vomitting, coughing, or struggling to breathe - seek veterinary care immediately.

If you are unsure which tick product is best for your pet, we're happy to help. stay safe this tick season!🐢🐱❀️

Hello everyone!!
Although ticks are out all year round, we find them most prominent during these up coming months. (august to february)

The paralysis tick is the main tick we are concerned about as it causes death within a few hours if untreated.

We need to protect your kitties and doggos during this season by ensuring they have had their preventative treatment. These can be bought over the counter at our clinic.

If you find a tick on your loved one, remove it immediately and put it in a zip lock bag and head to us straight away with the tick.
If after hours go to your closest emergency vet.
24hr animal hospital. 34 Groggs road, Jindalee QLD 4074

Signs of tick paralysis can include loss of bark, wobbly in back legs, unable to stand, disinterest in food and water and raspy breathing.
