This was genuinely my attempt at taking a marketing photo. 😂

I made these T-shirts to help raise funds for the Bone Lab Project and realized I should probably have some photos of myself actually wearing them.

Seems simple enough.

Except… there was nobody around to take the damn photo.

So I propped up my phone, tried to figure out where I needed to stand, attempted to get the shirt in the shot and apparently ended up with half a horse joining the campaign.

And this is such an accurate representation of solo entrepreneur life.

You have an idea.

Then you realize you’re also the person who has to create it, fund it, organize it, build the website, answer the emails, do the bookkeeping, make the content, market the content AND apparently model and photograph the merchandise.

There are so many parts of running a small business that nobody really sees.

The Bone Lab in particular is a huge passion project of mine. It is entirely self-funded and unpaid, and these shirts are one small way I’m trying to help offset some of the costs so I can keep excavating, preserving, studying and sharing what these horses have to teach us.

So yes, I probably need better marketing photos.

But for now you get me, the shirt and approximately half a horse. 😂❤️

Solo entrepreneur life.
