A huge thank you to everyone who supported us at the 2026 Shepherdson & Boyd Toogoolawah Working Dog Sale.

We’re pleased to say all three of our dogs have found great homes.

Lot 4 – Sellah
Lot 12 – Solo
Lot 23 – Gillie

Gillie has gone to repeat clients who have previously purchased a dog from us and have also had another dog through our training program. It’s always rewarding to have people come back, knowing exactly how we train and present our dogs.

Solo and Sellah have both gone to people who’ve been watching our dogs and following what we do for quite a few years. It’s good to finally get a couple of our dogs into their hands.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat, watched the pre-works, bid through AuctionsPlus or supported the sale in any way. We really appreciate the confidence you’ve placed in our program.

A big thank you to the Dusty Allery and the Shepherdson & Boyd team for another well-run sale, and congratulations to all the buyers and vendors.

LOT 23 – LEAFCREEK GILLIE

If you’re looking for a proven working dog rather than a young prospect, Gillie is well worth a look.

Gillie is a 4-year-old bitch by Craiglea Seth that has done plenty of miles in steep scrub and heavy lantana country. Before joining us she’d already completed extensive work behind a horse, and she’s continued to build on that experience.

She’s a genuine cast-out dog that will travel to find cattle and bring them home. In heavy cover she’s confident using heel bite and, when needed, has the determination to work the head to shift stubborn cattle.

Gillie has established sides, stop and recall, has travelled extensively behind a horse and is comfortable working in all types of country. She’s not whip shy and is ready to go to work.

Sellah is a young female that’s been brought along steadily and is showing plenty of promise. She works with good feel for her stock and is developing into a sensible, easy-going young working dog.

She’s the type that will continue to improve with experience and would suit someone looking for a young dog they can put their own stamp on. Whether it’s in the yards or out in the paddock, Sellah has the foundations to become a genuine all-round working dog.

LOT 12 – LEAFCREEK SOLO

Here’s another look at Lot 12, LeafCreek Solo, this time working sheep.

While Solo will make a handy yard and truck dog, she’s equally at home out in the paddock. She’s showing plenty of natural feel, is easy to work with and is developing into a genuine all-round working dog.

This video shows her working both in the paddock and through the race, handling her stock confidently and calmly.

If you’re looking for a young dog that can turn its hand to a variety of jobs, Solo is well worth a look.

LOT 12 – LEAFCREEK SOLO

Selling at the Shepherson & Boyd Toogoolawah Working Dog Sale this Saturday, 11 July.

Solo is a handy young female that is coming along really well. She’s naturally keen to work, has plenty of feel for her stock and is developing into a dog that will suit a variety of jobs.

She’ll make a great yard and truck dog, but has also shown she’ll handle herself out in the paddock on both cattle and sheep. She’s got plenty of natural presence, isn’t afraid to apply pressure when needed, and has a distinctive bark that lets you know she’s there to move stock.

She’s the sort of young dog that should keep improving with work and will suit someone looking for a genuine all-round working dog.

Saturday night at the Ray White Livestock Rockhampton Working Dog Trial & Sale, this image captured a genuinely authentic moment with Rookie Incentive winner Andrew of and a powerhouse pup, Addy's Elsie.

Here's the back story…

I'd spotted Andrew earlier in the weekend for a quick vox pop, but he was about to head in for a run, so we agreed to catch up later. The weekend got busy (as they do), and it wasn't until after the incentive finals, when he was getting some extra snaps with the photographer out the back, that I knew this was the opportunity. 🎥

What was meant to be a short, lighthearted interview turned into something so much more.

As a first-time competitor and vendor with zero expectations heading in, Andrew shared what the last couple of days had truly meant to him, and how this little dog had completely exceeded expectations and found an even deeper place in his heart.

I am by no means a confident interviewer, and trust me to stumble over words and forget my questions, but that's the beauty of social media. We're real humans wanting real conversations. 💬
