Did you know that Blue Heeler is the nickname for the Australian Cattle dog? It's because their mottled coat can look blue and they like to nip the heels of livestock to get them moving.

It's World Bee Day 🐝 and this is an Australian Blue Banded Bee (Amegilla). These tiny bees are native only in Australia and when you see them in the garden, it's special. Growing to 11mm long, their blue bands are an amazing metallic blue. They don't sting and don't have a hive as they're solitary bees, but they build their nests next to each other for company. Drawn with the amazing photography of ❤️
