Happy Veterinary Receptionist Week to the true masters of multitasking, miracle-workers, and the people who somehow keep smiling through the daily chaos.
From all of us across the hospital, we want to say how genuinely grateful we are for every single one of you.
Your role is so much more than answering phones, booking appointments, and greeting clients. You are the first impression of our hospital, the first calm voice people hear, and so often the people who set the tone for everything that follows. On some of our busiest, hardest, and most emotional days, that means more than words can say.
You handle so much every single day. Worried clients, emotional situations, endless ringing phones, shifting schedules, last-minute changes, questions from every direction, and the kind of chaos that should probably require a headset, a whistle, and air traffic control training. Yet you continue to show up with kindness, patience, humour, and so much heart.
You are problem-solvers, organisers, peacemakers, counsellors, communicators, and the glue that holds so much together behind the scenes. You keep things moving when the wheels are wobbling, you make clients feel heard and supported, and you help the rest of us more than you probably realise.
What we appreciate most is not just everything you do, but the way you do it. The warmth, compassion, resilience, and care you bring to this place never goes unnoticed. This job is not easy. A lot of the time it is really tough. It takes a very special kind of person to do it well.
We are so lucky to have such a large team of genuinely wonderful receptionists, and we are incredibly lucky to work alongside you.
Thank you for the patience you show, the care you give, the humour you bring, and the countless things you do every day that help this hospital run better. Even when things are hectic, messy, or feel one small inconvenience away from total collapse, you are still there keeping it all together.
You are valued, appreciated, and very deserving of being celebrated. Not just this week, but every week.
Thank you for all that you do, and for being such an important part of this team. 💙
