🐣🐾 Easter Hazards for Pets – A Vet’s Reminder 🐾🐣

Easter is a wonderful time for family, food… and unfortunately, a few hidden dangers for our furry friends. Here are the top Easter toxins we see every year:

🍫 Chocolate
Contains theobromine – toxic to dogs and cats. Dark chocolate is especially dangerous.

🍇 Hot Cross Buns & Raisins
Even small amounts of raisins or sultanas can cause serious kidney failure in dogs.

🌸 Easter Lilies (for cats!)
Highly toxic – even a small nibble or pollen exposure can lead to kidney failure in cats.

🍬 Xylitol (artificial sweetener)
Found in sugar-free lollies and baked goods – can cause life-threatening drops in blood sugar in dogs.

🥚 Foil, wrappers & fatty foods
Not toxic, but can cause gut blockages or pancreatitis (and nobody wants an Easter spent in hospital!).

🐰 What to do if you’re worried:
If your pet has eaten something they shouldn’t, contact your vet or an emergency clinic immediately—early treatment makes all the difference.

Let’s keep Easter safe, happy, and tail-wagging for everyone 💛🐾

🐣🐾 Hoppy Easter from Your Vet Team! 🐾🐣

Our team will be taking a short “paw-se” over Easter to recharge (and maybe sneak a little chocolate… 🍫 don’t worry—none for the pets! 😉)

Here’s when we’ll be open to care for your furry family:

Good Friday: Closed
Easter Saturday: Closed
Easter Sunday: Closed
Easter Monday: Closed

We’ll be back and ready for cuddles, consults, and chaos from Tuesday 7th April! 🐶🐱

🐰 Easter safety reminder: Chocolate, hot cross buns (those sneaky raisins!), and festive treats can be dangerous for pets—so keep them well out of reach.

If your pet needs urgent care while we’re closed, please contact your nearest emergency vet.

Wishing all our wonderful clients and their adorable sidekicks a safe, happy, and treat-filled Easter! 💛🐾
