Dental day for some of the PCH crew and client horses today. We even had PCH bred filly 'Star' come over with her owner Fiona Mann to get her first dental in preparation of being started under saddle 🥰

All the ponies were perfectly behaved, especially the two Joker babies Star & Ember ❤️

As always they're favourite part of the process is the horse treats that Wendy bestows on them all at the end, we love our equine dentist and so do the ponies 💕

Our handsome up and coming stud c**t 'PCH Acknowledge Me' Aka Groot is easily earning the right to keep his manhood everyday 🥰

Groot has the coolest, calmest mind and has taken everything we've asked of him in his stride.

He's working beautifully under saddle & is showing a very natural ability towards cows, and his kind and respectful nature has made him a pleasure to take out to our first of many ridden outings recently.

We are very excited about this guys future and Danni (Mrs PCH) is absolutely loving her journey with Groot, under the watchful eye of the experienced and supportive Paul (Mr PCH).

Groot thoroughly enjoyed his first ever body work session with his new best friend Katie Hawkins from Hawkins Equine Bodywork today 💙

Got to keep my little man in tip top condition now that he's coming into regular work, to do this we rely on a solid team of equine professionals who keep our entire herd fit and healthy 🐴

Some very useful information as we enter foaling season ❤️🐴

🌟 Foaling Season Has Arrived! 🌟

As we welcome the start of the breeding season, it’s the perfect time to ensure your mares are well-prepared for a safe and healthy delivery. 🐴💕

Is your mare ready?
✅ Do you know your mares due date?
✅ Does your mare have a caslick?
✅ Is your mare up to date with necessary vaccinations?

It's important to monitor your mare closely, especially as she nears her expected foaling date. Having a clean, safe, and quiet environment ready — plus a plan for when to call your vet — can make all the difference.

Once the foal is on the ground, don't forget the critical early checks:
🍼 Has the placenta passed completely from the mare?
🍼 Has the foal passed its meconium (first manure)?
🍼 Did the foal receive adequate colostrum? We recommend an IGG blood test to ensure your foal has received adequate immunity from colostrum.
🍼 Is the foal bright, active, and nursing well?

🕐 Foal should be standing within 1 hour, nursing within 2 hours and the mare should have passed her placenta within 3 hours.

We had another great mini cattle session this morning!! Thank you to everyone that joined us! We are looking forward to so many more of these 🤠

The mini sessions are really popular for all levels of horse and rider but are especially helpful for people new to working cattle and green horses. We offer a safe and encouraging environment with small groups and heaps of one on one tuition.

Starting on the flag, going onto a single cow and finally ending with working out of the herd, everyone gets ample opportunity to give their horse confidence and work on their cattle working knowledge and skills 🐴

Thanks again to everyone that joined us today, we will see you all again soon 😊

Paul and I even got a chance to work Joker and Bayb at the end, happy days 💕

Wow, what a clinic!! I think we saw four seasons in the one day today!! Well not Summer, it was definitely freezing all day, but what an epic bunch of ladies we had!!

Talk about true grit 🤠 our attendees today braved the icy wind, showers and a freezing Max temperate of 11° (feels like 7° 😳) and they had the best time!

The morning started in our Ranch arenas where everyone made sure they understood controlling all four parts of the horses body, we then moved on to obstacles, and finished the day on the mech cow (putting all that body control work to solid use).

We had a wonderful day with an absolutely epic group! Thank you to everyone who attended today, it was lovely to have you here, we look forward to seeing you all again 🐴
