Arthritis and excess weight can affect your pet’s comfort, mobility and quality of life. Look out for stiffness, difficulty getting up, reluctance to jump or slower walks.

Maintaining a healthy weight, encouraging gentle exercise and making small changes at home can help keep older pets comfortable and active.

🐾 My most unique trait is? Nod towards my dinner bowl and silent bark in excitement
🐾 My favourite thing to do is? Tail mum and dad in the house and always be behind them when they do something and accidentally trip them over 🙊

Lulu, Calico Domestic Long Hair
🐾 My nickname is? Wuwu fluffy bum
🐾 My most unique trait is? If you ignore me for too long when I’m hungry and meowing for my food I’ll nibble your toes
🐾 My favourite thing to do is? Lay on mum and dad and make biccies because I know I’m the cutest of them all 🤗

🐾 My most unique trait is? I’m huge at 8kg because him a hungry boy
🐾 My favourite thing to do is? Nothing! Lounging and being little spoon during naps is my favourite thing to do, but I also like to wonder outside for adventures 🍃

It’s spooky season 👻

Between the zombies and vampires, it’s easy to ignore the more mundane dangers brought by Halloween.
For the sake of your pets, keep them away from...
🍬 Candy- It might include dangerous ingredients, like chocolate or xylitol. It is especially dangerous if consumed in quantity.
👕 Costumes- Small bits, like buttons or decorations, can be chewed off and become choking hazards.
🕯️ Candles- Jack o’ Lanterns and other open flames can burn your pet, or be knocked over and become a fire hazard.
⭕ Glow sticks- Glow jewelry can be chewed on and spill its toxic contents.
🕸️ Decor- Temporary decorations, like fake spider webs, can be eaten and cause choking or intestinal blockages. Electrical cords should be kept out of reach or securely taped down.
🍟 Snack bags- Pets can get their head stuck inside, and suffocate. Cut up plastic bags before disposing of them.
🎃 Fall foods- Pumpkin, raisins, and corn should never be fed to pets.

By being mindful of these seasonal dangers, you can keep your pet happy and safe! 🧡

🐾 My most unique trait is? I know the exact time to squeak my toy to create the most havock, e.g. 3am

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Million Paws Walk yesterday and stopped by to say hello to our Family Vet Centre team! 🫶🏻

It was so lovely to see familiar faces, meet new friends and share a day celebrating our four (or three!) legged companions and the wonderful bond we have with them 🩶
