Some journeys are measured in miles.
Others are measured in dreams, anticipation, and the excitement of what lies ahead.

Today marked the first milestone in a very special journey. ❤️

One flight down, a few more steps to go, and with every mile travelled, the excitement grows.

For months, only a handful of people have known.

For years, we’ve dreamed about it.

This Sunday, the wait ends.

A very special passenger will be stepping onto South African soil, and with her comes the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

That’s all we’re saying… for now. 😉

Keep your eyes on this page.

Something beautiful is about to arrive.

⏳ Sunday.

🐾 Little moments like these make all the sleepless nights worth it 💛

The puppies are growing up far too quickly and their personalities are starting to shine through more and more each day. From the confident explorers to the cuddly little shadows, every one of them is becoming their own unique little character.

It has certainly been an eventful few weeks, but watching them play, interact and simply enjoy being puppies reminds me why I love what I do so much.

For now, we’re soaking up every moment of puppy breath, wagging tails, playful mischief and puppy piles before these precious babies start leaving for their forever homes. 🥹🐾

I think it’s safe to say they have absolutely mastered the art of being adorable. 💛✨

A little update from our nursery 🐾💛

The last two weeks have honestly been some of the hardest, most emotional, exhausting and beautiful days all at once.

Between emergency vet trips, Champagne’s unexpected diagnosis, sleepless nights, tube feeding, bottle feeding, and trying to juggle two litters at the same time — it has truly been a rollercoaster.

But through all of it, these dogs continue to amaze me every single day.

Champagne is slowly recovering and growing stronger day by day. Watching her fight through everything while still wanting to mother her babies has been incredibly emotional.

Sarabi has stepped into motherhood so naturally and beautifully, and then sweet Kiara completely surprised us all by stepping in to help co-parent Champagne’s litter. She has even started producing milk herself and treats the puppies as if they were her own 🥹

The puppies are growing beautifully, little personalities are starting to shine through, and despite all the challenges, our nursery is once again filled with tiny tails, milk bellies, puppy noises and so much love.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in, prayed for us, supported us and understood the silence lately. It truly means more than you know 💛

What a week it has been here at Mortonouro 💛

The past few days have taken us on one of the most emotional, exhausting, beautiful, and humbling journeys we’ve experienced as breeders.

Champagne’s whelping did not go as planned and quickly turned into an emergency situation. After struggling to progress in labour, she underwent an emergency C-section where 8 beautiful puppies were safely delivered — 4 boys and 4 girls 🤭💙💖

Shortly after, we discovered Champagne was suffering from severe anaemia. It has been one of the scariest experiences we’ve faced. She required blood transfusions, specialist care in Johannesburg with Dr de Cramer, and around-the-clock monitoring. There were moments of fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty, but through it all she has shown incredible strength.

While Champagne focused on recovering, we stepped in to bottle feed the puppies full time. Sleepless nights, feeding schedules around the clock, weighing puppies daily, stimulating tiny tummies, and celebrating every gram gained became our new normal. Watching these little babies fight and thrive has been truly incredible.

And then there is Sarabi 💛

With her own litter due very soon, she completely surprised us by stepping in to help care for Champagne’s puppies. Watching her natural maternal instincts take over — gently cleaning the puppies, licking them to stimulate them, and caring for them so softly — has been one of the most beautiful things we’ve ever witnessed. For a maiden girl, she has already shown us what an amazing mother she is going to be.

This week has reminded us that breeding is so much more than cute puppies and happy photos. It is responsibility, heartbreak, dedication, sleepless nights, difficult decisions, and unconditional love for these dogs.

Thankfully, today brings hope. Champagne is improving, the puppies are thriving, and Sarabi is preparing for her own journey into motherhood.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in, prayed, supported us, and followed this journey with us. We appreciate it more than words can say
