💔🐾 A Heartbreaking Rescue and Goodbye 🐾💔
We received a call from a concerned member of the Wesselsbron community regarding her neighbour's dog, who was in a very bad condition.
The poor girl had a large mass on her belly, which had sadly burst open. Her owner did not have the financial means to take her to the veterinarian, so when we were contacted, we immediately went to fetch her and rushed her to the vet.
Sadly, the news was devastating. 💔 The mass was confirmed to be cancerous, and the cancer had already spread. She was in a very bad condition and was suffering.
After being assessed by the veterinarian, the heartbreaking but most compassionate decision was made to let her go peacefully. 🌈🕊️
Sometimes, rescue does not always have the happy ending we hope and pray for. Sometimes, the greatest act of love we can offer is to take away their suffering and allow them to rest peacefully.
Rest easy, sweet girl. 🐾🤍 You may not have had the ending we wished for, but we hope that in your final moments, you felt safe, cared for and loved.
A heartfelt thank you to the concerned community member who reached out and spoke up for her. If you see an animal suffering, please never stay silent. Your call could give them the help they desperately need.
