Today we celebrate the men whose compassion and love for animals make a difference every single day.

The men who never hurt, but rather protect, care for and give hope to those who cannot speak for themselves.

The men working in animal welfare, often behind the scenes, without recognition or reward.

The men who walk the streets of our townships, who answer calls late at night, who drive at 11 p.m. to rescue a sick or injured animal, and who never hesitate when help is needed.

To our veterinarians, rescuers, volunteers, members and supporters – thank you.

You lead by example. You show strength through kindness and courage through compassion.

You remind us that real leadership is found in serving those who are vulnerable and in need.

Adoptions – Because Every Dog Deserves Their Own Human!

Our adoption dogs have a simple wish list:
✔ A comfy bed
✔ A full tummy
✔ Endless love
✔ Someone to blame when the couch cushion mysteriously explodes

These wonderful dogs are patiently waiting for a family to call their own. They don't care if your house is big or small, if your car is fancy, or if you sing off-key.

They simply want someone to love.
Some are experts at cuddling, some are professional ball chasers, and a few have earned honorary degrees in food detection. All of them are ready to fill your life with laughter, muddy paw prints, and unconditional love.

Holfontein Outreach – Youth Day June 2026

Yesterday we held our Holfontein outreach on Youth Day.

It was a good day, although our food supplies were limited. We could only give each dog a 1kg bag of food. Many families asked for more, and the animals certainly deserve that little extra, but unfortunately there simply was not enough to go around.

The streets were alive with people, music, and activity. It reminded us so much of Ponta do Ouro, where we first started doing outreach work more than 14 years ago. Those memories remind us how far this journey has come and how much work still lies ahead.

Despite the challenges, every bag of food, every kind word, and every visit made a difference to the animals we care so deeply about.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible team for giving your time, energy, and compassion to the animals we all love so much. Your dedication allows us to continue reaching communities where help is needed most.

Together, we continue to make a difference — one outreach, one family, and one animal at a time.

One of the most rewarding parts of our outreach work is seeing the same dogs outreach after outreach.

Many of these dogs would have a life expectancy of only 2 to 3 years without access to proper nutrition, parasite control, shelter, and basic veterinary care.

When we started our township outreach programme in 2013, we saw firsthand how difficult life was for these animals. Today, thanks to consistent care, education, sterilisation, vaccinations, and the support of our Townies, we are seeing many of these dogs living longer, healthier lives.

Every healthy dog we see again is proof that compassion and community support make a real difference. Behind every wagging tail is a story of hope, resilience, and a community that chose to care.

Thank you for walking this journey with us and helping us bring lasting change where it is needed most.

FROM HIT@@-AND-RUN VICTIM TO HOMEWARD BOUND HERO!

SCOOBY DOO IS GOING HOME!

What a long road it has been for Scooby Doo.
After being struck by a taxi in a hit-and-run accident, in our Holfontei township Mphumalanga suffered a very serious injury to his hind leg. There were moments when the road ahead seemed uncertain, but this brave boy never gave up.

Today, we are overjoyed to share some wonderful news with our Townies, supporters, and sponsors. After weeks of veterinary care, nursing, rehabilitation, and being loved to bits by our team, Scooby is finally ready to go home!

Stories like Scooby's remind us why we do outreach after outreach, rescue after rescue. Every animal deserves a second chance, and thanks to your support, Scooby received exactly that.
Watching him heal, regain his strength, and prepare for the next chapter of his life fills our hearts with pride and gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who helped make his recovery possible. Your kindness turned pain into hope and uncertainty into a future.

Safe travels home, Scoober Dooper. We are so proud of you.
