🌟 Hope’s Incredible Journey Home 🌟
❤️ Hope is finally back where she belongs. ❤️
On 28 May 2026, Hope was reunited with her mom, Louise Malan, after being missing for 14 days. She was found approximately 8 km from home in Wonderboom South.
On Thursday, 14 May 2026, Hope, a disabled and medically fragile kitten, suddenly disappeared from her usual spot in her mom’s garden. On 21 May 2026, K9 Loki conducted a search. While Hope’s scent was still present in the areas where she spent short periods of time outdoors each day, there was no indication whatsoever that she had left the property of her own accord.
After posters were created and messages were shared throughout community WhatsApp groups, something both remarkable and puzzling happened. The K9 Loki team received a call from Caron of Kitty Corner. Hope had been found by a passerby in a field in Wonderboom South, approximately 8 km from her home. The passerby alerted a nearby resident, who in turn contacted Caron.
By the time Hope was found, she had become extremely ill. Being without her medication, shelter, and proper care for such a long period had taken a serious toll on her health. Caron immediately stepped in and lovingly nursed Hope back to health. After seeing K9 Loki’s Facebook post, she contacted the team without delay.
There are a few important facts that cannot be ignored:
🐾 Due to her disability, there is no plausible way that Hope could have travelled such a distance on her own.
🐾 Even if she had somehow found herself in a vehicle engine or been transported unintentionally, her condition would have made it impossible for her to survive independently for two weeks, hunt for food, or care for herself.
Today, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and joy. Hope is safely back home and looking every bit the little miracle she truly is.
