🚨🐾 STRAY ALERT 🐾🚨

This little Yorkie boy was found wandering in Wilro Park, Roodepoort. He is very scared, hungry and tired, and was covered in mud, weeds and clumps when he arrived. 💔

He is currently safe, warm, bathed and fed at Cradle Vet while we try to locate his family. 🏡🐶

⚠️ SNAKE BITE WARNING ⚠️

We have recently seen a large increase in snake bite patients at the clinic, and unfortunately snake bites can become life-threatening very quickly for both dogs and cats.

PLEASE do not wait to “see if they improve” — urgent veterinary treatment can save your pet’s life.

🐾 Signs to look out for:• Sudden swelling (especially around the face, neck or legs)• Pain or crying• Weakness or collapse• Difficulty breathing• Vomiting or drooling• Pale gums• Shaking or paralysis• Puncture wounds or bleeding• Sudden lethargy after being outside

⚠️ What to do:• Keep your pet as calm and still as possible• Carry them if you can• DO NOT cut the wound, suck out venom or apply a tourniquet• Bring them to the vet immediately

Snakes become more active during warmer weather and after rain, so please be extra careful when pets are outdoors, near long grass, wood piles, rocks or gardens.

If you suspect a snake bite — even if you are unsure — contact us immediately. Time is critical. 🐍

Dear Cradle Vet Family 🐾

From tomorrow, Dr Marilie will be on sick leave while she undergoes a big operation. We know many of our patients and clients adore her, and we would like to wish her a smooth procedure and a speedy recovery. ❤️
