Introducing our last lady for the month of August...is Louise
💙💚
Tell us a little about yourself...
I'm Louise, and I’m the Admin Support at Northdene Veterinary Clinic. I’m very proud to be part of a team that genuinely cares about our patients, their families and each other. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, I love being busy, and I’m happiest when I know I’ve made a difference — even if it’s just making someone’s day a little easier. ❤️
My motto:
“Get up, dress up and show up!” 💕
Because sometimes you don't have to feel ready — you just have to show up and give it your best.
My role at Northdene Veterinary Clinic?
I’m involved in just about everything behind the scenes — from administration and staff to clients, stock, systems and making sure the practice keeps running as smoothly as possible!
How long have you been part of the Northdene family?
I’ve been part of the Northdene family since February 2021, and it has become so much more than just a workplace to me. It really feels like family. 💙💚
What do you love most about your job?
Every day is different, and there is never a dull moment. I love being able to help people when they are worried about their pets and knowing that, in some small way, I can make a difficult situation easier for them. I also love being part of a team that works together because we all want the very best for our patients.
What do you enjoy doing when you're not at work?
Spending time with my husband and, of course, my fur babies! 🐾❤️ I love my Dachshunds and could quite happily spend the whole day spoiling them. I also enjoy relaxing, cooking, baking, reading and spending time at home.
What is your favourite animal and why?
Dogs — without a doubt! 🐶 They are loyal, loving, completely non-judgemental and they have this incredible ability to make you smile even on the toughest day.
And let's be honest... Dachshunds have a very special place in my heart! 😂❤️
If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would it be?
I think I would have to say a sloth! 🦥 They are adorable, peaceful and seem to have mastered the art of taking life slowly. Although I suspect I’d still end up spoiling it rotten!
What is your favourite snack or sweet treat?
Biltong & Chocolate
If you could see any animal in the wild, which one would you choose?
Manatee 🩵🌊
I would absolutely love to see a manatee in the wild. There is something incredibly special about these gentle, peaceful creatures. They are exceptionally calm and non-aggressive, and their slow, graceful movements make them fascinating to watch in their natural habitat.🩵🌊
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
The ability to go back in time — not to change who I am, but to have the chance to make different choices, prevent certain mistakes, and change things that could have turned out better.
I would go back and make better decisions where I didn't know better at the time, and perhaps change a few moments that had consequences far beyond what I could have imagined.
If I had that superpower, I wouldn't want to rewrite my whole life — just make a few changes for the better, knowing what I know now. ❤️
Which woman inspires you the most, and why?
My Mom & Late Gran. ❤️
They have always been an example of strength, love and resilience to me. They taught me to keep going even when things are difficult, to care deeply about the people around me and, most importantly, to never give up.
I think so much of who I am today comes from the woman who raised me. But I am also inspired by all the women in my family. Each of them, in their own way, has shown me strength, courage, love and resilience. I feel incredibly lucky to have been surrounded by such amazing women who have helped shape the person I am today. ❤️
They remind me that strength doesn't always have to be loud — sometimes it is simply getting up, carrying on, loving fiercely and never giving up.
