Whenever I suggest people take stray animals to the SPCA the first response is guaranteed 'but they only put animals to sleep'. Well guess what euthanasia of a healthy animal is always a more humane solution to dumping animals at "No Kill 'Shelters'". Has anyone whose supported a no kill, unregulated, 'shelter' ever wondered about what happens when there is no more money, no more space and no more help to look after all those 100s of animals they 'shelter'. That is not a 'shelter' that is torture in it's worst form.

SPCA's do not discriminately just kill animals. They work methodically and rationally to help as many animals as they can with what little funding they get and the public verbally and physically abuse their staff and accuse them of only killing animals.

SPCA's have to do this, while having to combat the greed and interference from the SPCA National Council, who take over every SPCA that successfully raises money and makes a difference in their area, by bombarding them with 30 day warnings of petty misdemeanors to cause stress and more paperwork so they can go in, take over and add their own staff. They basically collapse the whole structure so they can get their hands on their funding.

Do more to help legitimate welfare organisations, and don't respond to every social media plea from so-called NPO's that use people's emotions to fund bad ideas and what can amount to cruelty. Be discriminate about who you support and do your research on them and what your local SPCA really does while you are at it.
