🌱 FARMING CHRONICLES: MYSTERY SOLVED! 🕵🏾‍♀️

Remember the wilted spinach plants I shared a few days ago? Well, we finally found our suspect!

The culprit? A MOLE!

Turns out, while we’ve been busy growing vegetables above the ground, this little underground contractor has been busy digging tunnels beneath them! 🕳️

The tunnelling disturbs the roots, leaving our beautiful spinach wilted and collapsing. And as if that wasn’t enough, these burrowing pests also feed on tuberous roots, causing even more damage! 😩

Another day, another farming lesson! Who knew we’d have to deal with underground construction on the farm?

Farming really does keep you on your toes!

🌱Something new is growing at GeneXperts!

We officially planted our first batch of okra seeds on 8 October ☺️☺️

With the scorching heat and uncertainty around this season’s rainfall, we’re stepping into this new crop with excitement, hope and a little bit of nervousness! ☀️🌧️

Every seed planted is a new lesson, a new challenge and another opportunity to grow.

Now we wait, water and trust the process! 🤞🏾

El Niño about to knock me out real fast😭😭

According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS), this summer is expected to be hotter and drier than normal, particularly in the country's summer rainfall regions, including Gauteng. 🥵🥵

Farming challenges never end! Woke up to three wilted, sunken spinach plants this morning. 😢😢 What could be the culprit this time? Just when you think you've got things under control, farming humbles you again! 🤦🏾‍♀️🙆🏾‍♀️
