βοΈ IMPORTANT NOTICEβοΈ
Over the next four days (27β30 May 2026), our inspectors will be monitoring Eid al-Adha/Qurbani, during which members of the Muslim community perform annual religious sacrifices involving large numbers of animals.
Our role during this time is to ensure that all animals are treated humanely and that the process complies with the Animals Protection Act 71 of 1962, together with all relevant regulations and codes of practice. It is a demanding period for our inspectors, both physically and emotionally, but one that is important to animal welfare.
As most of our team will be deployed at these sites, we will unfortunately only have one field officer available to attend to complaints and emergencies. We therefore kindly ask for your patience and understanding, as matters will need to be prioritised according to urgency and severity.
Please keep our inspectors, staff and the animals in your thoughts over the coming days. We truly appreciate the support, kindness, and understanding of our community during this busy time.
Thank you for standing with us in protecting animals.
