Cryptorchidism is a hereditary condition and affected dogs should not be bred. Retained testicles also carry a significantly increased risk of developing testicular tumours and can predispose the dog to testicular torsion (twisting), which is painful and potentially life-threatening. For these reasons, surgical removal of both testicles is recommended🐾🩺🐶
