Did you know that we stock the most amazing frozen chickens 🐔

Situated on a beautiful piece of paradise between Balgowan and Curry's Post in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands, the Blue Orange Farm philosophy is quite simple: To provide as far as practically possible, the most naturally raised Chicken for the conscious consumer.

Chickens are raised on pasture in an open range environment using the “slow grown” methodology (i.e.. there are no artificial lights stimulating the chickens to eat 20 hours out of every 24) to ensure that they have a stress-free life where they are able to forage for food, stretch their wings and plume their feathers.

This method of raising poultry results in a stress free, anti-biotic free, healthy bird that leads to a better overall taste experience 🍗

The state will be administering rabies vaccinations at Village Feeds on the 12th of April 2025 (Saturday)

No fuss and no need for your furry family members to leave the comfort and safety of your vehicle.

Techs will come to your vehicle and administer the vaccination.
Remember to bring along your pets vaccination book 📖

‼️ALERT‼️

We are facing a huge rabies epidemic at the moment.
Please ensue your pets are up to date with their rabies inoculations.

On the 12th of April, we at Village Feeds will be having the state at our premises (17 Acutt Road, Hilton) from 9h00 to 12h00 to administer free rabies vaccinations to your pets.

If you have a vet book, please bring along for certification. If you don't have a vet book, a certificate will be issued to you (please keep it safe as the law requires proof).

Rabies is a serious matter. This disease is fatal once symptoms occur. The only weapon against it is vaccination.

Recently, there was a case in the United States of an organ transplant recipient succumbing to rabies from an infected donated organ.

This drives home the reality of this disease and just how important awareness is. If you have come into contact with any animal with no known rabies vaccination history, you MUST have post-exposure treatment at your nearest hospital. To be cautious will keep you alive.

Let's work together towards zero infections by 2030.

️‼️Urgent Community Update: RABIES ALERT‼️

A dead dog was recovered from the highway yesterday morning with no apparent trauma injury. It was sent for forensic testing and has tested positive for Rabies. uMngeni SPCA urges all pet owners to ensure their animals are vaccinated - cats, dogs and all warm blooded animals. Vaccinations are free of charge at uMngeni SPCA, Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm.

Anyone who came into contact with a medium tan cross-breed within a 10 kilometer radius within the Cedara/Hilton area should immediately consult their health practitioner.
