It's time that Makana Municipality follows other municipalities and bans the bang🧨. Until it does, please take precautions for your pets in case your neighbourhood welcomes the New Year with a wasteful bang💥😡. The poster from MyCityBloemfontein provides good advice for pet owners.
Our Inspectorate team will be on duty to attend to any displaced or injured animals, phone (don't message) 0648208496. For lawless, irresponsible human behaviour, please contact law enforcement🚨🚔. Stay safe everyone and look after your animals🙏.

SAY "NO" TO FIREWORKS
If you have money to spend on fireworks, please rather donate pet food to an animal shelter like the SPCA, or buy some food for a family in need.
Let's make the arrival of 2026 a compassionate and peaceful one and say NO to fireworks!

CHRISTMAS AT THE KENNELS 🎄🎅🎁
Santa vibes started early at the SPCA Grahamstown kennels with an early Christmas workout in the exercise runs. Phillip and June prepared the Christmas meal of rice, mince, pellets and a dash of cream! Lee and June fed all the dogs, while staff started cleaning kennels. Phillip and June cleaned the cattery and fed the cats and kittens with a festive meal of tinned tuna and wet food, while Lee attended to an emergency.
The puppy pen was decorated and pups had such fun!
Thank you to our team for being there every day including Christmas Day! What would we do without you?
We wish our staff, volunteers, funders, supporters, adopters, vet teams, Committee and all those that help the animals in our town and surrounds ... a very, Merry Christmas!🎄🐈🐕🐄🐑🐏🐖🫏🐔

LITTLE HAZEL
Hazel, the kitten, had her front leg amputated last week after an injury earlier in her life and her leg had not set correctly.
Little Hazel is doing remarkably well, jumping on the climbing posts in the cattery!
We are SO grateful to the Good D.O.G. Fund from Animal-Kind International for funding her amputation. Without their assistance this would not have been possible and we would have been faced with a very difficult decision.
Hazel has an adoption application in progress❤️.....

COCO IS SPAYED
Dynamite comes in small packages and Coco is one explosive package!
The muzzle was fitted to protect the vet clinic staff and Coco was accompanied to the clinic by her owner. She is not fond of strangers🫣.
Coco was spayed by the Grahamstown Vet Clinic/Pauline Henson Trust Fund. No humans were hurt during the process 🫢😂.

MEET PERI, BATMAN & PRINGLE
3 little boys, full of mischief and cuddles. They were surrendered to the SPCA Grahamstown as teeny-tiny kittens after their mom passed away. Well done to our staff for doing such an amazing job with them!
They will be ready for their new homes in 2 weeks' time.
Photos were taken about 4 weeks ago, after a messy feed, so they have grown a bit since then!
For adoption enquiries Whatsapp June 0833764175 or contact Lee at the kennels 046 6223233.
