milies or owners who did some research on the breed and knows how to deal with them ,train and take care of them ...border collies were bred to herd sheep they are extremely active and need a job to to if not given a job they will become bored .The border collie is the smartest dog breed ...agility flyball and dock diving are great sports border collies compete in ....my border collies are a part of my family they are like children get birthday and Christmas gifts and sleep in side the house ...spoilt I love all of my pups and only want the best families or owners for them my pups are spoilt and cared for until their owner collect them I expect the same of every owner or family to take care spoil and love them the rest of their lives
I want to improve the breed I have studied border collie colors for 4 years and it's amazing to know how many there are and how the genes differ from each color for example black is a dominant gene so black and white to a brown and white will only have black and white pups because the brown gene is a recessive Gene the blue Merle is dominant as well but if the black and white has brown genes they will have black and white pups and brown and white pups but 2 copies of the brown and white gene is needed to have a litter of brown pups ....something very interesting is 2 black and white border collies can have brown pups if both of them have the brown gene ...tri color is recessive as well ......I love all the border collie colors there are so many I don't breed for color i love all colors and whish i can have them all but I strive to breed healthy border collies with amazing personalities and of course they have to be standard ...I breed working border collies so far and I want my pups to have an amazing herding instinct if they go to a farm and have to herd but if they go to a family as a pet the owner needs to know how to keep them busy for example agility flyball dock diving etc
