Here's our younger rescues having a rowdy playtime - Astra, Akira (brown), Tiva and Whisper. The older ones are inside voicing their opinions, but didn't feel like coming outside 😆

Two of our rescues - Odin and Whisper, visited Snyp Clinic today. Odin woke up first and, looking for something to do, decided to chew up his harness. Whisper stayed in dreamland for another 5 minutes😆

Here's today's update (Monday 10 Nov) on the ongoing water saga. Late Saturday, another message from landlady, "Still an issue with the pump, we have to wait for the agents to assist us" - my response, "On a Saturday afternoon? Please make another plan today we cannot wait until Monday". I will admit to being shocked when at 18:30, she appeared at the front, with a tank on the back of a bakkie, with water in it. While I'm grateful she at least did something, I don't think I'm being unreasonable by saying this should have been done Friday already.
In the meantime, the small rainwater tank actually had clean water in it, (no-one more surprised than me) and it was full. I put some Nanopure tablers in to be sure, and also connected this tank to the pressure pump - so at least we have some water for now. On Sunday I was able to pump from the tank she brought me up into the main supply tank - but 800L only goes so far, it took the tank to around 10%. I mentioned this to her, and she replied "So is your tank full now?" 😵‍💫I wonder how she thought 800L in a flowbin was going to fill a 5000L tank.....
So on to today. They still have issues, now I'm told they've found other leaks in the pipe coming up to the houses, and are repairing them. That makes 6 repairs to this pipe so far. Call me a ray of sunshine, but as each leak is found, any other little hole on the pipe will become a leak as more pressure is put on the pipe - but, what do I know..🤦‍♂️
The picture shows the rainwater tank - an Everite tank of unknown age. Just looking at it I think I could be forgiven for not considering it at first, but looks are deceiving

9.30 this morning, get a voicenote "still an issue with the pump, and we are trying to do something", and eventually, after 2 days, the first "attempt" to help us - "we will arrange emergency water to the house" - well, this "emergency" should have happened on Thursday already. I've just got back from hardware to get some parts to plumb in a rainwater tank I've found (in very overgrown part) that amazingly has water in it. I drove past the bottom area (going out and coming back) - no-one around. So much for the "emergency". And yes - still without water until I can plumb in the tank.

We are coming up to TWO days without running water at this house we had to move to. Landlady gets an attitude when I try and follow up about it. "Doing the best we can" she says. Yes they have a pump issue, but she has done nothing to try and assist us up here at the house, while at the bottom all the factory tenants have water. Then she says "If you don't like the situation, you are welcome to find another place" - lovely cop-out, trying to duck out of her legal obligations per the rent contract. And yes - our rent is up to date, in case anyone is wondering. Since we've moved in here there hasbeen one issue after another, Took her 3 weeks to sort out the drain from kitchen and bathroom, and that only after we got nasty. Still only half a job done, but i suppose at least the drains work, and we don't have to use buckets to empty the sink. Anyway, stay tuned for more episodes. As the saying goes, you just can't make this stuff up...

Our rescue pack going out for their morning run. They are still in a much bigger, fenced area, but with extra space to really stretch their legs. Lots of excitement

We have finally found the perfect property for the rescue and sanctuary😁. 23Ha of stunning trees and nature, added to that a big orchard with macadamia nuts, avos, oranges to name a few. Several houses that can be rented out to provide a regular income, all within an easy drive from East London - so visitors will find it easy to get to us! We have been given an option on this amazing property, and to secure it, we do need a deposit of R300,000. We are praying that someone out there would find it in their hearts to assist us to secure the property. Once we are able to confirm, then we have plans in place to ensure the property runs sustainably, very possible with all the income potential - and in a stunning setting! If you are the special angel who can answer our prayer, please contact us. Howls from the pack!!😁🐺
