❤️ A very special delivery ❤️

Fifi arrived needing an emergency Caesarean section.
We're happy to share that surgery went smoothly, and Fifi welcomed four beautiful, healthy puppies into the world. 🐾🐾🐾🐾

After a stressful start, seeing Fifi settled comfortably with her newborn babies made it all worthwhile. Mom is doing well, the puppies are thriving, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Thank you to Fifi's family for trusting us with her care during such an important moment.

Sometimes people don’t realise how much their kind words truly matter.
Being a veterinarian is deeply rewarding, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. We see animals at their most vulnerable, we carry difficult decisions with families, and we often take home the weight of the hard days long after the clinic doors close.
That’s why messages, reviews, and simple words of appreciation from clients mean more than most people will ever know.
They don’t just encourage us — they steady us. They remind us why we chose this path in the first place. They help carry us through the long days, the tough cases, and the moments where things don’t go as planned.
Every “thank you,” every thoughtful message, every kind review genuinely makes a difference to our team.

Meet Smudge 🐾

Smudge recently underwent a bilateral TPLO surgery to help manage cruciate ligament disease in both knees.

A TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) is an advanced orthopedic procedure commonly performed in dogs with cruciate ligament injuries to improve stability of the knee joint and help patients return to a more comfortable, active life.

Smudge has been incredibly brave throughout the process and is already recovering well with lots of rest, pain management, physiotherapy, and plenty of love ❤️

We are so proud of this sweet girl and look forward to seeing continued progress over the coming weeks!

There’s something so special about an older dog 🤍

Like a fine wine, Bindi just keeps getting better with age — senior dogs have a way of stealing our hearts all over again.

People often ask how she still looks and feels so good as she’s getting older, and the answer is actually quite simple:
🐾 A good quality diet
🐾Regular veterinary checkups
🐾Consistent dental care
🐾Lots of love and attention

As our pets age, regular geriatric checkups become incredibly important. Many age-related conditions can be managed far more successfully when picked up early, helping our senior pets stay comfortable, happy, and active for longer.

Dental health is another huge part of healthy aging. Chronic dental disease doesn’t just affect the mouth — it can impact the heart, kidneys, liver, and overall quality of life. A healthy mouth truly makes a difference.

Senior pets deserve to thrive, not just grow old 🐾

At our practice, this philosophy carries through every patient we see. I believe in treating every animal that walks through our doors with the same level of care and attention I would want for my own precious Bindi. That means taking the time to listen, to examine carefully, and to make decisions guided by compassion, thoroughness, and respect for the bond you share with your pet.

At Abbotsford Veterinary Clinic, we understand that some visits are easier in the comfort of your own home — both for you and your pets.

We are now offering house calls for: 🏡
• Vaccinations – keeping your pets up to date without the stress of travelling
• 🌈 Euthanasia – providing a peaceful, compassionate goodbye in a familiar environment
Our goal is to make these important moments as calm, gentle, and stress-free as possible.
🚐 We also offer a pickup and drop-off service for consultations if you’re unable to bring your pet in personally.

Please note that full consultations for sick patients still need to be done in-clinic, as we rely on our equipment — including blood testing machines, microscopes, scales, and X-rays — to provide the best level of care.
However, we’re happy to assist by safely transporting your pet to and from the clinic.
