Muddy Monday at Pigs ’n’ Paws! 🐷☀️💦

With the South African heat turning up, our piggies know exactly where they want to be… in their mud baths!

But did you know that mud is much more than just fun for pigs?

Pigs can't sweat effectively to cool themselves down, so their mud baths help keep their bodies cool and protect their sensitive skin from the sun.

And if you're wondering why some of our piggies have white ears, that's their sunblock!
We make sure those sensitive ears get some extra protection.

Just another hot summer day at Pigs ’n’ Paws, keeping our precious piggies cool, comfortable and happy!

Jacks says: “Help me get the Pigs 'n' Paws colouring page out into the world!" 🎨

We’ve sold 21 of the 50 books we need, just 29 to go! Every preorder brings us closer to making this special first edition a reality for Pigs ’n’ Paws.

This isn’t an ordinary colouring book. It features 16 real sanctuary residents, each with their own colouring page, a short story and a photo so you can meet the animal behind the picture. It’s a joyful creative project for children and grown-ups, and a lovely gift for an animal-loving friend.

Once printing, packaging and project costs are covered, the remaining funds will help support the sanctuary. Could you help us colour in the last 29 spots? Even one book brings us closer. ❤️

We need at least 50 paid preorders by 6 November 2026 for printing to go ahead. If we don’t reach the target, everyone will receive a full refund.

R290 per book + R87 courier per parcel. Preorder through our website and we’ll courier your book to your preferred address. This preorder is for South African residents only; we’re unable to ship internationally.

Preorder here:

Thank you for helping us bring Jacks and his sanctuary friends to life on the page and for supporting the animals who call Pigs ’n’ Paws home. ❤️

39 CAMPS. LOTS OF WATER. EVERY SINGLE DAY! ☀️

Filling one water bath might look like a small job, but imagine doing it across 39 camps, every single day! 😅

At Pigs ’n’ Paws, some camps have buckets, others have troughs or baths, and many have more than one.
Then there are all the mud baths to fill too!

With the scorching South African heat, keeping our animals supplied with fresh water is one of our biggest daily priorities.

For our piggies, mud baths aren't a luxury — they're a necessity!
Pigs can't sweat effectively like we do, so they rely on water and mud to help keep cool.

It's a massive daily job, but seeing our animals comfortable, cool and happy makes every bit of effort worthwhile.

💚 If you'd like to support the everyday care of our rescued animals, every little contribution makes a difference! 🐾

🐑✂️ Fresh haircuts for our woolly trio! ❤️

Mary, Shaun and Biscuit had their shearing done yesterday, and they're all looking lovely .

A big thank you to for coming out and treating our three woolly friends with such kindness, patience and gentle care. ❤️

Life at a sanctuary isn't just about food, cuddles and treats. It's also about all those important things we do to keep our animals healthy, comfortable and happy.

Every little bit of support helps us continue giving our rescued animals the care they deserve.
If you'd like to be part of their journey, we'd be so grateful.
