🐷 Remember Pipsqueak? We have wonderful news!❤️🏡

A little while ago, we introduced you to Pipsqueak, the sweet piggy who was born without ears and is completely deaf.

At the time, we were hoping to find her the loving forever home she deserved.

Today, we're so happy to share that Pipsqueak has officially found her forever family. ❤️

After spending time in foster care, where she was loved and cared for by some incredible humans, Pipsqueak recently began the next chapter of her journey.

Although they were unable to offer Pipsqueak a long-term home, they cared for her with so much love and dedication while she waited for the perfect family to come along.

And that family finally did. 🏡✨

This reel captures some of the special moments from her arrival and her first days settling into her beautiful new life.

Watching her explore her surroundings, meet her new mom, and begin this exciting chapter is a reminder of what can happen when compassionate people come together to help an animal in need.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported, shared, followed, and cared about Pipsqueak's story, and especially to the wonderful lady who opened her heart and home to this very special girl.

🐷 She survived a lab and still chooses to trust humans.

This is Maybelline.

Before sanctuary life, Maybelline was used in a laboratory. We will never fully know everything she experienced before rescue but somehow, after all she has been through, she still walks toward people looking for love, comfort, and gentle affection.

That kind of forgiveness is difficult to understand.

Today, Maybelline is safe at Pigs ’n’ Paws and lifelong protection. But animals like Maybelline need ongoing care every single month, not just once-off rescue.

That is why we created Hearts of Hope.❤️

Jerry would just like everyone to know that:

✔️ Grass tastes better when shared with friends;
✔️ And yes he KNOWS he’s photogenic.😌

This beautiful boy lives safely at Pigs ’n’ Paws Animal Sanctuary in Gauteng, just outside of Cullinan, where rescued animals get a second chance at life, love, and lots of snacks. ❤️

One of the most special parts of the sanctuary is that people can actually come visit the animals by appointment. Meeting them in person is something truly magical.

What if your love for animals could continue long after you’re gone?🕊️🐷

This little face belongs to Munch. A rescued piggy who, like so many animals at Pigs ’n’ Paws, was given a second chance because somebody chose compassion. ❤️

Every animal at our sanctuary carries a story. Some were neglected. Some abandoned. Some rescued from heartbreaking situations. But all of them deserve safety, dignity, and lifelong love.

One of the most powerful ways to continue that compassion into the future is through a legacy gift.

By remembering Pigs ’n’ Paws in your will, you can help ensure that rescued animals will always have a safe place to land, warm food to eat, medical care when they need it, and people who will love them for the rest of their lives.

Meet little Pipsqueak… 🐷❤️

Pipsqueak’s life has already been far from easy. She was born deaf and without ears, making her very vulnerable around other pigs. At only 8 months old, this precious little girl was being bitten and badly bullied on the property where she lived. Thankfully, a kind-hearted lady stepped in and rescued her from that situation.

Her rescuers love her deeply, but sadly they are unable to keep her long term, and time is running out for this special little soul.

Because Pipsqueak is deaf and has special needs, she needs a home with someone who understands pigs, someone with patience, compassion, and a heart willing to give her the safety and love she deserves. 🩷

If you feel you could offer Pipsqueak her forever home, please contact us urgently on 068 689 0431. Please understand that strict home checks before and after adoption will apply, as we only want the very best for her.

If no suitable home can be found, Pigs n Paws will open our hearts and make space for little Pipsqueak. But we have to be honest — we cannot do it alone. We would need committed monthly support for her care through our Hearts of Hope sponsorship program or a monthly debit order. We would also need help to build her a safe camp with a warm shelter where she can feel protected and secure.

We never want to turn away an animal in need, especially one as vulnerable as Pipsqueak… but we also have a responsibility to ensure we can properly provide for every animal already in our care.

Meet Fuzzbutt. One tiny piggy with a huge story.

Fuzzbutt and his brother Munchy were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. Today, they are finally safe, loved, and cared for with one of the Pigs ‘n’ Paws directors in Johannesburg.

And honestly? They are the kind of piggies that completely steal your heart.

But sanctuary life is forever.

When animals come into our care, they stay with us for life. That means every meal, every vet visit, every warm blanket, every supplement, every safe sleeping space becomes our responsibility for the rest of their lives.

That is why our Hearts of Hope Campaign matters so deeply. ❤️

🐷 THE FACE OF SANCTUARY LIFE 🐷

This handsome boy is Basil, one of the gentle souls living at Pigs ’n’ Paws Animal Sanctuary in South Africa. ❤️

Basil has been with us for quite some time now and shares his camp with Oupa and Spekkies. While he can be a little shy at first, once he gets to know you, his loving personality completely shines through.

And then comes the famous Basil move. 🥹🐽 He slowly flops down right next to you, fully expecting proper belly rubs and attention.

Moments like these remind us that pigs are incredibly intelligent, emotional, affectionate animals with their own unique personalities and friendships.

🐴✨ GOD’S CREATIONS AREN’T “JUST ANIMALS” ✨🐴

They are hearts.
They are souls.
They are living reminders of unconditional love.

These beautiful horses are part of the seven horses we rescued here at Pigs ’n’ Paws Sanctuary and every single one carries a story, a personality, and a gentle spirit that reminds us daily how incredible God’s creations truly are. ❤️

What an amazing privilege it is to care for animals the way God intended.

To protect them.
To nurture them.
To give them safety, kindness, and a place where they are free to simply be.

Animals love without conditions.
Without status.
Without judgment.

And perhaps that’s one of the purest reflections of love we get to experience on this earth. 🐷🐴🐶

Sometimes rescue stories don’t end the way we hoped they would. 💔🐷
In the middle of 2025, we were asked to help find a home for a young piggy named Lexi after her family could no longer keep her. She was still under a year old, and what followed was months and months of searching for just the right place for her. We had one home lined up that unfortunately didn’t work out, and so the search continued.
Then one day, someone contacted us looking to adopt a piggy friend for their own pig. We did a home check, and instantly knew — this was it. This was Lexi’s perfect home. After another long wait to arrange transport, Lexi finally made the journey to her new family… and from the moment she arrived, it was pure magic.
Her new mom, Camilla, absolutely adored her, and Lexi adored her right back. She went on daily walks with the dogs, spent her days in the office with her mom, and was loved beyond measure. It truly felt like the fairy-tale ending we had all hoped and waited for.
Then, two weeks ago, everything changed.
Camilla phoned us absolutely heartbroken. At only around a year and a half old, Lexi had suddenly passed away from what appears to have been a heart attack, just moments after returning home from one of her beloved walks.
Sometimes life is unbearably unfair. After searching so long for the perfect home, after finally getting everything so right, something completely out of our control can still happen. Rescue can be heartbreaking like that.
But what gives us comfort is knowing this: Lexi spent the last four months of her life truly happy. Truly safe. Truly loved. She knew kindness, companionship, adventure, cuddles, and the joy of belonging.
And for that, we will be forever grateful to Camilla. Thank you for giving Lexi the beautiful life every rescued animal deserves, no matter how short it sadly was. ❤️
